I dont have question about flying. I know how to fly. The problem is the ai is able to fly their ships in ways that shouldnt be possible. An asp should be able match a cobra in manuevers. But it should positively outgun it. Thing is, lately, even in the vulture, i will tear the shields down and then, for some reason, be completely unable to get the target back in my sights until their shields are up. Thats a consistant fact and it stinks of funky coding.

The majority of forumers now disagree with you. The AI seems fine.

Oh a Cobra out-turns an Asp every time. End of story.

Anyway, if you feel something is fishy with the AI, then presenting your case in a calm, mature manner would have helped you.

As you attacked us, however, people won't be so willing to help.

Karma, you know?

Obviously not.

Obviously they are possible.

An ASP with a good pilot can. Your ASP is missing a necessity.

But it should positively outgun it.

The ASP only has two small hardpoints more. That's not that much in terms of firepower.

That's the fact, that the NPCs behave differently when their shields are down. Fight and flight principle.

I've taken the bait. The ship is sinking.

Im not caring about gaining assistance. And, no, a cobra wont out manuever an asp on a "whered he go? I cant get him back in my sights at all" type of way. Sure, a cobra could be able to skirt away but it shouldnt be able to disappear. I had that ship and it manuevers much the same as the asp.

I'll sink alongside ya hun. What songs shall we sing?
I'm leaning towards dust in the wind, by Kansas.

These lower tier ship options suck ass.
Vulture, woah, awesome... wait, no it isnt because of its massive power issues and weak glass.
Asp, lots of guns and armor, but cant manuever.
Cobra, weak ass ship.

They all have massive problems.

That's one of the things I love about this game, there's no such thing as a perfect ship. Each have their own strengths and weaknesses and the key is to find what works for you.

However, based on your posts it seems you want to blame everything on the game, rather than taking any of the blame yourself.

I'm pretty sure the Asp is near the top of the list of my killed ships in the Cobra MkIII. Clearly I'm doing something wrong!

OP, you never mentioned the AI's combat rank in this case. A higher ranked ship will obviously be more difficult to get a bead on, I've flown a vulture against an elite cobra, and it isn't exactly easy to stay behind it

You shouldn't expect a competent ranked AI to give the same challenge as one who is deadly/dangerous/elite.

Deekin Scalesinger was found dead in his room at 4:00 Pm today.

Autopsy showed that he died from digesing 23 kg of salted and chocolate popcorn. The funeral will be held on Capitol in Achenar. Everyone is invited...it will start friday 13:00 Pm sharp.
