Hardware & Technical Your Game System Spec

In theory it should but Microsoft have been known to make some silly decisions. Windows 8 was initialled hated because they did a simple thing like remove the start menu that everyone liked. Even worse, when 8.1 was coming out they promised they had listened to users concerns and stated that they had put the start button back. In fact this was a lie and all they had done is make a permanent button that brings the new start screen back. That's not what users wanted and they knew it!

Fortunately there are many third party applications that give you a menu back and ways of forcing Windows to start on the desktop application to make it roughly approximate what Windows 7 is like.

M$ seem to get it right on the odd numbers, I'll sit with 7 and wait and see what 9 looks like :) I'm hoping for a sort of holodeck that gets installed in your home...

An awful lot of core i7 users on this forum. For 99.9% of games now and probably for the immediate future a core I5 is plenty especially one that is over clocked. if you are building\thinking of building your own or buying one from the high street (not recommended!) then get one with just a core i5 and save yourself the extra money you'd spend on a core i7.

A core i7 is serious overkill on a gaming pc unless your also doing lots of multitasking or video editing. This is not just my personal opinion but the opinions of others who build computers for a living so they should know.

In general, I change PC every 10 years. So in my case a core I7 seem to me entirely appropriate
