The stats of your laptop look fine, but I have to admit to some skepticism regarding laptop graphics cards the last few years. The last two laptops I've owned have both had dedicated graphics cards, from both NVidia and ATi, decent cards for when I bought them.
And they've both sucked.
The ATi in particular just ran like a three-legged dog (<20fps in WoW of all things, never mind anything actually demanding), and ran hot enough to shut the machine down after a few minutes of gaming. The Nvidia in my current laptop seems to manage gaming well enough from a performance standpoint, but it also runs so damn hot I'm concerned about cooking components in the long run if I try any real 3D gaming with it.
I recognise that a desktop solution is suitable for everyone, but I'll definitely be sticking to a desktop for the vast majority of my gaming, including E: D and Star Citizen, when they're released.
Currently I'm running an i5 (2400 I think?), on a stock Intel Sandy Bridge board, with 8gb of (cheap) RAM. The graphics card I recently upgraded from a GTX 275 to a GTX 560Ti, which made a *big* difference, I must say. The chances are I'll still be using the same machine in the 18-24 month period it takes for E: D & SC to be released, and I can imagine it'll run both titles quite acceptably. The one upgrade I'd like to make is from a SATA drive to an SSD, but those are really expensive, so we'll have to see closer to the time.
