“It's a moon! … I don't care, you registered this as an ELW. Reassess!
Okay. 1/3 of earth gravity ...but it is tidally locked!
The day and night cycle down there must be mad!”

I ride the Dolphin to observe all of this but Saud Kruger doesn't like me very much.

Ideal opportunity to watch beautiful asteroids in orbit around this heaven, laying on the heavenly beach, sipping tasteful "Hutton mug" delivered directly from Hutton Orbital, just for your pleasure.
With little luck you can watch asteroid entering atmosphere and drop on surface next to our new luxury hotel.
WHAT AN EXITEMENT!

Greetings Commanders,

Explorers venture into the depths of space and discover beautiful systems that most will never see. We would like to offer you the opportunity to share your best discoveries and be immortalised in Elite Dangerous.

Our plan is to place approximately 50 additional Tourist Beacons throughout the Milky Way. Therefore, we’re running this competition in-line with this week’s exploration-based Community Goal.

To enter, reply to this post with an in-system (not System Map) screenshot of the most interesting unpopulated systems containing an Earth-like world you can find! When the Community Goal ends on 30 September, we’ll choose our favourites and add Tourist Beacons to those locations. Each beacon will feature the entrant’s Commander name in its text!

To qualify, submissions must:
  • Feature a screenshot of an unpopulated system in Elite Dangerous which contains an Earth-like world
  • Include your in-game Commander name
  • Include the name of the screenshotted system
Note: Only one submission will be accepted per player. If you submit multiple screenshots, the last one will be considered your only valid entry. Entries after 14:00 BST on 30 September will not be counted. We reserve the right not to include any Commander names in Tourist Beacon text that we deem inappropriate.

While the system must contain an Earth-like world, it doesn’t have to be the focus of the image. Try to show off as many features as you can which make the system interesting and a strong potential tourist destination!

All winning entries will receive 5,000 ARX in addition to the Tourist Beacon, so get exploring!

Good luck

Found by myself just 4351.23 ly from Sol is the Synuefou BW-M d7-3 system. It contains a beautiful ELW with golden low density rings illuminated by a Class F star. The system is shared with 7 Gas Giants, 1 Icy Body and 21 Moons, two of which (9b & 9c) are close orbit landables.

7a through 7d hold a thin carbon dioxide atmosphere hosting life to Frutexa Acus, Bacterium Aurasus, Concha Labiata and Tussock Ignis whilst 9a through 9c host geological sites such as Major Rocky Magma Geysers, Major Silicate Vapor Geysers, Metallic Magma and Vents.

I thank you for your consideration and I hope you enjoy my discovery, I am excited to have it shared with the eager vacationers.

All the best,
CMDR Arlo MacDonald

I was lucky enough to arrive back in the bubble after a 3 month long, journey around the galaxy.

What a lovely surprise, and I did happen to take photos and bookmarks, woot.

Hi @Bruce G , can you please clarify the following points?
  • "per player" as in "per person", or as in "per cmdr" (= if I have 2 ED accounts which can be played in parallel, e.g. Cmdr A and Cmdr B, do I have the possibility to submit one or two eligible systems)?
  • what if two different players/persons/cmdrs submit the same system? (sort of: am I required to read the entire thread here to see if the system I want to submit is already submitted to have a chance)

am I required to read the entire thread here to see if the system I want to submit is already submitted to have a chance
You may not be aware there is a search function on the forums - top right. It can even filter down to just this thread.

Re: Player vs other - I assume player = player - but if Bruce wants to let us do one per CMDR then I am ready :)

Trappist 1 is obviously going to make it ! I can't even fathom how I didn't submit this one ! I wanted my name on that system ever since I heard of it's existence, and All I could manage was a first lanfall on one of the bodies. Well done with what I belive is one of the most significant submissions of the lot despite being totally "unspectacular" imagewise.

CMDR Electron1984 - Here's my newly discovered ELW. Hope you like it! Oochody AZ-N C8-0 5. - edit Can't post screenshot - 'Oops you ran into an error'?
Maybe try uploading it to something like Imgur. Then just post the link and it should come up in the post. They also give you a code to post if all else fails.

System: Blaa Phoe HK-I c12-51 5 B

This lovely location has view of a ringed planet when you safely jump into the geyser on foot! That's right CMDRs, the geysers here cycle on and off, and you can safely have them boost you into the air on foot. Have fun boosting into space and enjoying the crater views and ringed planet!

Hello from Italy!
This is one of the many ELWs I discovered in my travels.
It's my favourite because reminds me of my birthplace, earth as it even has a moon which is about half the planet size. I called it Little Gaia but feel free to change the name.
It's Dumboea RJ-Q e5-204 B 10
You will find attached a picture of my Anaconda class "USS Tuvok" in orbit of the planet.
It's a system halfway between colonia and Sagittarius A and it also has a neutron star for speeding up your trip back.
Picture was taken on PS4.
I probably won't win as I see many gorgeous pictures but in case I make it in the top 50 would be grand if you could mention in the beacon my late dad "Johnny Beidaoui" who loved being my number one before departing for the next life.
Kind regards
CMDR ODINOJI out
