YOUR name in Elite! Tourist Beacon competition

All right, here is my humble submission from my latest exploration trip:

System: Gloaduae NR-K c22-0
ELW: AB 2
CMDR name: Sampi Ogonek

While not the farthest known Earth-like from the mean galactic plane, at Y=+2743, this world’s location in the Norma Arm gives it an interesting, oblique view of our galaxy. The ELW is illuminated by the two stars it orbits, a Sun-like star and a much fainter red dwarf, with another, faint red dwarf in the distance.

Earth-like @Y=2743 #1.jpg

(Unfortunately at the time I discovered this ELW, its orbital location prevented taking a screenshot that would include both the galactic centre and the binary stars.)

System: Dryoea Flyi IM-W f1-3475
ELW: Planet ABC 5
CMDR: Jacob99

This Earth Like World lies only 1500ls from a tinary Black Hole, White Dwarf and K class star giving rise to views of the jetcones from the white dwarf whilst in orbit around the Earth Like World. Upon entry to the system CMDRs will be met by the stunning dance of these three stars locked in a close orbit whilst also enjoying the interesting gravitational lensing caused by the Black Hole. It is unknown how such a world could exist so close to this stellar configaration given radiation emitted from the Black Hole and White Dwarf would usually sterilise a planet giving rise to both a unique site for tourists to visit and an opportunity for scientific research and colonisation.

Greetings Commanders,

Explorers venture into the depths of space and discover beautiful systems that most will never see. We would like to offer you the opportunity to share your best discoveries and be immortalised in Elite Dangerous.

Our plan is to place approximately 50 additional Tourist Beacons throughout the Milky Way. Therefore, we’re running this competition in-line with this week’s exploration-based Community Goal.

To enter, reply to this post with an in-system (not System Map) screenshot of the most interesting unpopulated systems containing an Earth-like world you can find! When the Community Goal ends on 30 September, we’ll choose our favourites and add Tourist Beacons to those locations. Each beacon will feature the entrant’s Commander name in its text!

To qualify, submissions must:
  • Feature a screenshot of an unpopulated system in Elite Dangerous which contains an Earth-like world
  • Include your in-game Commander name
  • Include the name of the screenshotted system
Note: Only one submission will be accepted per player. If you submit multiple screenshots, the last one will be considered your only valid entry. Entries after 14:00 BST on 30 September will not be counted. We reserve the right not to include any Commander names in Tourist Beacon text that we deem inappropriate.

While the system must contain an Earth-like world, it doesn’t have to be the focus of the image. Try to show off as many features as you can which make the system interesting and a strong potential tourist destination!

All winning entries will receive 5,000 ARX in addition to the Tourist Beacon, so get exploring!

Good luck

Graei Phio AI-I d10-2

Located over 31000ly from the Bubble this is a remarkable systems and one of my favorite ELW finds. This particular terrestrial body is in fact a small earth like moon (0.3308 earth masses) orbiting a much bigger high metal content world (3.4297 earth masses). The HMC world itself is terraformable and has active vulcanism. According to my discovery notes from March 3306, Peduncle Trees ( caeruleum, ostrinium ) can be found in the system. It remains the only ELW I have found in a system with peduncle trees.

The 1% tourists that love a lush landscape during planet rise/set, and romantic escapades to a stellar phenomena will find the most exquisite Graei Phio AI-I d10-2 their top destination.

The system was discovered during the first long expedition of the Anaconda class ship "The Bridger" by CMDR Ren Solsen on a scenic exploration route towards the Magellan Star.

System discovered by myself a few days ago. System has ELW orbiting the second of two stars in the unpopulated system. This star is also orbited by two Water Worlds, one of which is suitable for terraforming. Also several High Metal Content bodies, some of which are landable, one of which has bacterial colonies.

Nice! Make sure to include a photo to sell the system!

How about an Earth-like world inside of a planetary nebula?

I'd wager that this is the single rarest thing in this entire thread and one of the rarest possibilities in the entire game. I found it (and 8 other undiscovered planetary nebula) during a trip in which I went to over 120 planetary nebula in the core. Planetary nebula are already rare, having one with a Earth-Like world and a terraformable water world is even rarer, almost unbelievably so. All in all with having multiple landable systems include odyssey capable atmospheric ones, it's ALMOST one of a kind.

It also as a sister system, another planetary nebula EOK BLOU UQ-R E4-8268 only 20ish LY away.

@Bruce G : I edited my original post because I misread the part about where only our final screenshot is valid, and so, I added a new one to the end.

I hope that you guys will consider other screenshots of entries too though, because there are systems where you can't fit everything interesting that's there into one screenshot only. Take a look at @Mooing 's post here for a good example.

Planet Name: ABC 5 g
Optional name: Bague Ornée de Bijoux (Ornated ring)

Description:
Situated atop the galaxy, this quad black hole system is home to an incredibly rare Earth-like world orbiting a ringed M class star, it comes with a fantastic view of the rings and of other bodies orbiting the star. The system orbiting the star also composes of other bodies. One pair, orbiting each other with a rapid orbit of 9 hours under the blazing sun, causing heavy volcanism.

System: Zunoae JN-Q d6-383

In-game name: CMDR DaveyGravy

Situated within the Empyrean Straits, this Earth-like world (planet 3) orbits a luminous class A star, so make sure you bring your sunglasses*! The sky is a beautiful juxtaposition of light versus dark, as the system location offset upwards of the galactic plane features half of the sky facing the brilliantly luminous galactic core regions and the other towards the universe and beyond, with each side bejewelled with stars of every colour and variety.

But that’s not all. The system also features a terraformable planet (planet 4) with large lakes of an as yet unknown liquid and an ammonia world ** (planet 7) with an ammonia and oxygen atmosphere featuring a deep burnt-gold coloured surface and beautiful cloud formations, for which sightseeing visits will be available. If danger tourism is your thing, be sure to stop by the highly volcanically active landable planet 1 and marvel at the geological wonders***.
So don’t delay, book your ticket today and experience all of the vitamin D you’ll ever need and unforgettable views of the Milky Way in all its glittering splendour!

* Sunglasses and radiation protection suits are available from your nearest Astrogator Tours rep for a non-negotiable fee. Astrogator Tours is not responsible for any retinal damage or injury suffered as a result of excess exposure to gamma radiation.
** Bookings are non-refundable in the rare event of Thargoid incursion and colonisation of this world.
*** Astrogator Tours is not responsible for injury or death sustained from but not limited to extreme heat exposure, direct contact with lava or silicate vapour ingestion into suit life support systems.
