Zoo layout

Thanks! I'm very fond of habitats with no actual barriers, so I often use rocks and both dry and wet moats for my animals. Here's a photo of my Orangutan enclosure with a wet moat (I used a climbing blueprint from the workshop for the structures because I suck at buildings):

Yeah, I use the construction tools and the terrain tools probably more than the rocks, though i do use the rocks. I don't mind the barriers so much, though I try and blend them into the look of the zoo as a whole, and hide them with foliage. My more recent habitats tend to use about 30%-40% in game barriers. I have plans to go back and remodel/repurpose two of my older habitats that use a lot of game barriers, but I need to build out the new habitats for the current occupants, but I'm not at that point in building out the Master plan yet!

@kinagatng7lions That habitat is gorgeous. No...gorgeous doesn't do it justice. Incredible work!

It inspires me to try to do better! I've just started experimenting with using natural barriers rather than real ones for the first time ever in my current zoo. For example, I used a combination of terrain and rocks between my snow leopards and siberian tiger habitats. Took me a lot of time to get it right though, the leopards kept finding ways to climb the rocks no matter how tall I stacked 'em.

@Jaggid Edje Thanks! Though I can't claim too much credit since the climbing structures were straight from the workshop by El Neeson.

I did modify the structure quite a bit to fit the current available space, added a river and made sure they can't jump over it, added a bridge so people can see the 'rangtans better, then also made a waterfall and a fake forest facade to hide the staff facilities (has no in-game consequences since they're far from the guests but I like them to be out of sight all the same.

Don't be so modest. Take that Climbing structure and drop it in a square 40x40 wood post habitat and it wouldn't look so great. An artist doesn't need to manufacture his own paint and brushes to make excellent art.
