General / Off-Topic Zubrin tells it like it is

Finally some clear thinking about the main problems preventing a (NASA) manned mars mission.
(apart from the strange refusal to use nuclear propulsion, which is another topic)

I have been thinking along these lines for a while and have been frustrated that nobody in the business seemed to be on the same wavelength - the elephant-in-the-room psychological problems affecting the culture around space exploration within NASA that are illogical and unreasonable need to be addressed so we can address the actual engineering and safety, and funding problems.

Anyway - had to share this with someone and the missus isn't going to be interested so there ya go.

I know where you are coming from on that :)

The whole people and bases on Mars I think does not have the political support for the costs and risks involved these days, at least not from the USA.

It may need to be an international adventure or a private one if any private venture could pull it off.
