We have been looking forward to Chinese for too long

I have been playing Elite Dangerous for many years. I bought the game when I first heard that it would be released in Chinese. I was very disappointed that the Chinese project was not completed.
I hope to see the Chinese version of Elite Dangerous universe in my lifetime, so that I can enjoy the game without any obstacles!

What we have confused for a decade : 1st all competitors ( Star Citizen , No Man Sky , EVE , etc ) had Chinese localized but ED did not ; 2nd Planet Coaster 2 and Jurassic World has Chinese localized either but ED did not ; 3rd languages with fewer players had been localized but the biggest group on Steam had been ignored ; 4th Frontier had promised that they would bring official Chinese localed translation in 2015 ( after 3rd party Chinese localed was banned ) but they broke the promise .

Totally agreed. During my 9 years of gameplay in Elite dnagerous I have recruit more than 30 of my friends from china and most of them just gave up after the first few hours. Try to understand english might not be so hard itself but the complexity of elite really multiply with that and made a huge barrier. Since every year there are people asking about localization in our chiness player forums, I believe it's still not too late to give this market a try.

Official localization will significantly increase the efficiency of instruction. For those volunteer instructors which have ability and willingness to help new CMDRs getting through their toughest part of first touch to galaxy, clear and accurate localizations for certain items and activities will make people avoid a lot of misunderstanding.

Yeah, bought ED since 2016, and recruit more than 20 new CMDR, 9 of them as gift to my friends from China. But still, Only a few can endure to journey through the vastness of the ED universe.
At the same time, I have already spent hundreds of pounds in the game, tons of skins, as well as several official novels like Legacy and Lava.
Reading english may not a challenge to me, but who can resist a game with one's mother tongue as offical localization?
There r tons of people still want to see the very vastness of Deep Dark Black Sea——the universe! Even in video games!
As u can see, No man's sky and even Star Citizen(which I really don't want to mention it) both earn large amount of sales in people who use chinese as their mother tongue. There's a great market to explore.

FD doesn't need to do the Chinese translation completely on its own, it just needs to put the translation configurations public on comunicity translation sites such as Transifex for Chinese players to participate in contributing to, as the Chinese community now has accurate translations and understandings of many of these concepts. At least FD doesn't need to pay too much for translation issues, the hard part should be the in-game character set support.

Totally agreed with LBV.

If Frontiers is willing to cooperate, I'm prettty sure that Chinese communities would voluntarily provide complete text of translation. The next step of font replacement could be taken over by FD for the consideration of security.

In fact, this is basically how localization of Star Citizen functions, and it turns out quite smooth and efficient, providing a close bond between game dev and communities.

A huge number of players are waiting to see if FD would like to make a step forward.
