Real World Theme Parks What annoys you when queueing for a ride?

So queueing for rides is the painful side of waiting for your turn on a ride. Some parks get this ride and turn it into part of the adventure. However I want to know what annoys you about queuing for a ride.

My pet hate is being stuck behind someone who does not move down the queue as it moves but instead decides for whatever reason what they currently are doing (normally playing on a mobile phone) is more important than moving down with everyone else. Nothing annoys me more other than queue jumping.

This really annoys me! (All Credit to: jasonhawkes.com)

Smoking is number one always. HATE it. It is not allowed to do so in many parks but people still do, cheeky people damn crack addicts they are. ;) :D

Then also annoying is when my feet acts up and gets super painful. I can't stand for longer times. :/ (disability in feet) But of course this is singular to me and not to everyone in the queue.

Queue holders, queue jumpers.. Park workers not respecting the fastpass/disability queue fast enough. (looking at you Thorpe park, they picked only 2 people from the fastpass queue per big ride.. whaat? Disabled is also in same queue so it wasn't nice.)

People who send one member of their family in first and then push up through everyone to catch up with them later when the first person is near the front. I've seen it happen where the first person appears to be imaginary as well [blah]

Yes all of these Things. And my personal hatred is against loud and obnoxious people. (Sorry France, but looking at you) Luckily in Europa Park there is Zero tolerance for Queue jumping. There are Guys watching the Queue Line, and when they spot stuff like this, they Escort them to the start at the Queue. But they wait until they reached the end of the Line :D :D :D

I get really annoyed by those queue jumpers who think because there friends are at the front of the line the can just budge and go with them. Really nobody enforces it at my local park (Valley Fair) so I just have to deal with it.

I really never had the problem at a park with line jumpers, but it is too bad that they can't be escorted out of the park.

I witnessed this in Thorpe Park once on the Stealth Coaster. Some guys appeared out of the bushes next to the lake so who knows where they came from. But the operator spotted them unknown to everyone but my friend and I who was watching the operator doing his checks before sending the next train. Everyone was complaining about this guys who had pushed in and was getting abuse back from them. As soon as we got to the station security were waiting for them. The guys were refusing to leave the queue and one of them made the big mistake of trying to say as a season pass holder security had no right to question them. Well that went very wrong for them when a manager turned up and took the pass off him stating its Merlin Entertainments property and due to his abusive behaviour they had every right to revolk the pass without refund. Both were then escorted I guess out of the park due to the threats they were making. A large crowd in the queue line cheered the staff on.

In all fairness this is the worse case of Queue Jumping I have seen and most accept they were spotted and leave the queue.

Some great responses being posted. Is there any more?

Yes I hate the people bumping their way to their "friends" further down the queue. If you want to meet your friend, yes fine, then that friend should wait until you have queued until his/her position, not opposite. We did so when I as a child spotted my friend queue for same ride (by coincidence did not know she was going to hit Liseberg too). My dad and I went to a corner of the queue and let people pass through until we were at same level with that friend and her dad. I wish more would do that. I think it was the premiere year of Lisebergsbanan so the queue was long, both indoors AND even longer outdoors! 1987. :)

I recently encountered a reverse-queue-line-jumper [tongue]

When i notice someone who is que jumping on me i always (politely) tell them to dont jump the line and move back.
But every now and then you're in a really wide queue line and when you don't pay attention you easily move forward too fast or people are moving from your back to your front.

Last week this situation happened, a guy and a girl were behind me but were very busy watching the scene and talking and stuff. After a few minutes they were in front of me because they weren't really paying attention in this wide queue line. I decided to not say anything... When people do it on purpose, SURE i will say something but in this case i was pretty sure they were just talking and didn't even know they were cutting the line.

After like 5 minutes the guy turned around, saw my face and i heard him whisper to his girlfriend "didn't we start this line -behind- that guy?" She confirmed, and he did appologize and told me to move in front of him. I just laughed and told him it was okay and not to worry about it. for the remaining of the 30+ minute waiting line we had some nice conversations and it ended up being a very pleasant conversation. Stupid little things like this can really make my day, people appologizing for something they did, and ending up in a nice conversation to kill time.

That's me when I've already waited the time it said at the entrance and I'm still nowhere near getting onto the ride [big grin]

Oh haha happened to me too! Helix premiere we were the ones that waited the longest. The CEO told a time I do not remember, maybe 2:45 was the longest queue recorded on that day, but in fact it was wrong, we waited 30 mins more actually according to our times. So we waited far more than what the estimator said.
