Any lesser-known mixed-species habitats you'd recommend?

Yeah, I think cheetahs are the most commonly used predators for mixed habitats because they can’t really kill anything larger than a wildebeest. Even a (GROWN) zebra is generally safe. Greater Vancouver Zoo also has black bears in with the bison and Roosevelt elk, which is a safe bet. I’ve seen zoos with wolves and grizzlies together, but that one seems too risky to me. Also heard of a zoo that had monkeys in with the sloth bears… eventually one got eaten. 😒
I know at least one zoo in the Netherlands has wolves with brown bears and they have no issues as far as I'm aware. The bears seem a little fearful of the wolves, even.

If it works it works I guess
Still if I was an herbivore, I think I would be stressed and constantly wondering if this is going to be the day something goes wrong.
I had gemsbok with fennec foxes that worked pretty well. I know it won’t happen in game but if in real life if a fox would get trampled in that habitat.

These are all the interspecies enrichment groups that enrich each other in planet zoo.

In Sandbox, if you turn off predation and fear, it should be possible to keep carnivores and herbivores together, I would think. Haven't tested it myself (aside from the obvious binturong/sun bear which get an enrichment bonus).

Here is a link to a Reddit thread that I found a while back that has a link to a spreadsheet that has a great compatibility tab for mixing species. I've found it most helpful:

A current favorite of mine recently is a Giant Panda/Red-Crowned Crane habitat. This combination puts a smile on my face. I'll attempt a pic here of some of the residents enjoying a twilight meal.

So here’s what I just did
Dwarf caimans get along just fine with spectacled caimans
Red foxes and Arctic foxes have worked
Now I haven’t let them breed yet and I wonder if that will change things

I don't think they should be. I just read that a spectacled caiman even eats its own kind if necessary.. I once kept a cuviers caiman together with a salt water crocodile and it also seemed to work for a couple of years in-game. But eventually you always get a Predator warning. (Unless you turn these off in sandbox)

I once made an aside wetlands habitat that had gharials and red crowned cranes. They were perfectly fine together. I like to imagine the cranes clean the gharials teeth or something.
I would love to see that in game, birds cleaning gharials teeth
Gharials only eat fish

Today I got an albino alligator, put him in with my caimans, after about 10 minutes I got a notification that predation is happening and I immediately pulled him. I believed he intended one of the dwarf caimans.
Now I wonder if spectacled can live with alligators.

No, they can't,

At least I tried this combination in hard franchise and everything was fine, the spectacled caiman and the dwarf caiman never fight or hunt each other

Now I’ve seen pics from y’all and PZ has confirmed anteaters and manned wolfs plus capybaras get the interspecies bonus which amazes me. Do Manned wolfs seriously not eat capybaras or anteaters!? I know caimans and capybaras have been seen close together in the wild. Some of the examples you all have shown me usually involve a big tough herbivore and a carnivore that typically wouldn’t mess with that prey.

This may not be 100% accurate, but it feels like the capybaras were coded to be extra mellow with almost any species. Considering how chilled out they are in almost any picture I've seen of them it wouldn't surprise me.

Interesting about the Maned Wolf though. They are technically carnivores, so I wonder if there's some kind of coding level of carnivorous tendencies....same reasons meerkats can live with many different animals even though they're technically also carnivores.

Apparantly the maned wolf only hunts small mammals. So capybara and anteaters are probably safe. Personally I would keep maned Wolfs separated. Not because they are dangerous but I think they Prefer to be with their own specie and nothing Else.
