What do everyone think about family or order pack?

Would you guys like it? Like pinnipeds pack, new and old world primate pack, goat pack, pig pack, cow pack, antelope pack, parrot pack, macaw pack, etc. Just to get all the animals we want? what I list here is already enough for another 3 years of fun.

For example we desperately need A Lot of monkeys, if they all come in one pack, we get build a St. Louis Zoo Monkey house immediately. AND the different rags and be use for modding different types of monkey.

Just a shower thought. I think this idea is cool to get all the things we want.

Personally I don't think they will ever happen. The only common thing in all DLCs we have gotten until now is that the animals included in each pack were completely different among them.

That being said, I wouldn't mind a primate pack, since monkeys can be really diverse and different to each other.

I think they have a lot of potential, especially for underrepresented groups of animals like monkeys (a primate pack) or animals that we can still use so many more of (ungulates).

Yea a single group of animals won’t work. For animal packs to works the devs need to try to have something for everyone, be it the ungulate nerds, carnivore fans, or the small mammal enjoyers. While I do want a barrel of monkeys for a pack having 7 primates (or 7 hoofed animals or reptiles etc.) could either be redundant for many people. Another reason could be that people might not buy packs that have taxonomic clades that they doesn’t interest them.

I personally would love this, but I don't think that they'll sell well.

The only 2 packs that may work are a primate pack and a bird pack, and I have a couple of ideas for each:

Feathers of the World animal pack:
  1. Secretary bird
  2. Greater rhea
  3. Scarlet ibis
  4. North Island brown kiwi
  5. Roseate spoonbill
  6. Mallard
  7. Great white pelican
  8. Scarlet macaw (WE)
  9. Blue-and-yellow macaw (WE)
  10. African grey parrot (WE)
  11. Military macaw (WE)
  12. Hyacinth macaw (WE)
King of the Swingers animal pack:
  1. Vervet monkey
  2. Hamadryas baboon
  3. Bald uakari
  4. Lion-tailed macaque
  5. Gray langur
  6. White-cheeked gibbon
  7. Black howler monkey
  8. Golden lion tamarin (WE)
  9. Emperor tamarin (WE)
  10. Cottontop tamarin (WE)
  11. Geoffrey's tamarin (WE)
  12. Pied tamarin (WE)

I'm starting to think both a primate and a birds pack might be necessary just because those groups are so far behind. Especially a primate pack. Birds are pretty easy to fit into almost any theme, but primates are a bit more limited in my eyes. I would be pretty excited about a small cats pack because I like them and think there is a definite hole there, but I think they would add nice variety to other biome packs.

I keep coming back to this. I can't think of a biome or continent (except South America) that is lacking in choices. I mean, now, there are enough animals to not use the same ones every single time in each corresponding section, you know?

But, animal families, now that's different. The 2 animal families that I truly feel are lacking are primates and birds, and I feel like an animal pack for each family would be a huge boost and, in my opinion, I could retire the game right there (not that I want to, but y'all get the point)

We haven't gotten a monkey since spring 2021. We haven't gotten a small, versatile monkey since spring 2020. That's absolutely ridiculous, and I think we outright need a primate pack at this point (I would just say monkey pack but I also wouldn't say no to a second gibbon or another lemur sneaking in). Birds are another obvious one, and personally I wouldn't say no to packs for small cats or ungulates, but those are on a completely different level from monkeys.

That said, regardless of how much we need it, it 100% isn't happening. Frontier typically does try and include a wide variety of species (Twilight pack aside, at least) that attempts to appeal to everyone, and it's proven to work. They could release four hypothetical packs consisting of a carnivore, an ungulate, a primate, and a bird, and plenty of people would buy all four even if they only like two or three, maybe even just one of the animals. But if they instead released one carnivore pack, one primate pack, etc.? Well, the people who don't like primates (or carnivores, birds, etc.) won't buy that one, even if they buy the other three. That's basically giving people the go-ahead to sit out entire packs, leaving money on the table.

To be honest, we need like 20 more monkeys and 50 birds, excluding the non-flying ones.

I feel primates is the only group you could really pull this of eith pizzazz at this point? Like, most other groups, even thenbig charismatic ones wouldn'thave enough species to make the roster surprising?

Like, you could do a carnivora pack just about, but even with them being the classic "most charismatic mammals" group i think we are running low? Like say wolverine, honey badger, sea otter, spectacled/sloth bear, tanuki, coati, ocelot and walrus solid.

Ungulates similarly... like say black rhino, dromedary, red river hog, saiga, musk ox, markhor, yak, dik-dik sp./wild boar/peccary Like solid? But not that much room for manouver.

Outside those 3, you might be able to squeeze out a 5 animal pack out of rodents or monotremes+marsupials (echidna sp, tasmanian devil, virginia oppossum, quokka, tree kangaroo sp, sugar glider exhibit actuallt very solid?)

Birds, Monkeys, and generally Reptiles are Incredibly lacking, taking in count how many unique and unexpected species Planet zoo has, compared to other zoo games.

I'll do my own one then.

1.Primate Pack

1.Hamadryas Baboon
2.Gelada
3.Squirrel Monkey
4.Golden Lion Tamarin
5.Common Patas Monkey
6.Howler Monkey
7.Black Crested Mangabey
8.Mantled Guereza

2..Birds Pack
1.Secretary Bird
2.Marabou Stork
3.Shoebill
4.Grey Crowned Crane
5.Great White Pelican
6.Tibetan Geese
7.Great Hornbill
8.Scarlet Macaw
9.Snowy Owl
10.Rainbow Lorikeet (WE)

3.Reptile Pack
1.Veiled Chameleon (EX)
2.Panther Chameleon (EX)
3.Fiji Banded Iguana (EX)
4.Tuatara (EX)
5.Toke Gecko (EX)
6.Leopard Gecko (EX)
7.Emerald Tree Boa (EX)
8.Green Anaconda (EX)
9.Reticulated Python (EX)
10.Frilled Necked Lizard (EX)
11.Philippine Sailfin Dragon (EX)
12.King Cobra (EX)

Frontier would probably never make such packs. They might not sell Well. Even though I think a primate or Bird pack with diverse species would sell.

I doubt a family pack would happen, but if it did, from the mammalian aspect, a Primates pack would be the most requested, and IMO, the most needed as well.

I would be fine with an order pack for birds too...definitely to pull from various families of course. There could be diversity like there is with mammals. Grouping them together isn't an issue - Secretary Birds have as much in common with Macaws as Felines do with Canines - if not less things in common than Felines - Canines.

I'm confused why people talk about a bird pack in this thread. I'm not an expert in animals, but I think birds in general is not a family or order. We have already gotten packs with only mammals, so a pack with only birds is possible for me. A pack with only parrots or only bears is very unlikely however.

It depends a little on who you ask. Traditional Aves (Birds) are a Class of vertebrates which is the next higher step than order on the Taxonomic Ladder. But since birds are now known to be a group of coelurosaurian dinosaurs that didnt really stood the test of time. But they are still a Class officially, for know atleast :D
