Just like to say a big thank you to Edward Lewis for the tickets giveaway on Karrashes live stream last night. I was the lucky winner, and i'm really looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday. Also a big thank you to Karrash for another great live stream.

FWIW, I'll be at Duxford for the day with a few friends and am planning on dragging them, er, heading to the Red Lion once they chuck us out for a pre-party schmooze. I'll update Cmdr Awesome's list tomorrow when I'm not on the mobile. See you all there

I've updated the list to give accurate numbers (again), and publish the latest info.
This is the list for the pre-meet at Red Lion on Saturday starting between 4 and 4:30. I've advised the Red Lion that there will be ~100 of us! Unless we keep track of this properly there may not be enough staff to keep the beer flowing. Please do your part and help us avoid this disaster - all you need to do is update this post properly.When quoting this list PLEASE:
- Reply and add your username to this list so we have a clue about numbers.
- keep all of this text with it and remove the quote tags so it remains quotable for the next guy
- don't lose the red colouring, which denotes drivers with spare pax seats.
- if you're bringing a +1, put them on a separate line to make the numbers work.
Facts:
- We're talking about this Red Lion - http://www.redlionwhittlesfordbridge.com/
- It is right next to Whittlesford Parkway Railway station and the Whittlesford Holiday Inn Express, and about a 20-30min walk from the venue. The walk has good footpaths but you'll need a torch (phone app will do), and it involves crossing a couple of motorway sliproads.
- I'm in touch with the venue to confirm they will have enough space and staff to keep us dry, warm and refreshed.
- a 3 cabs (2*8 and 1*6 seaters) have been arranged to take us to IWM from 17:50 onwards. They can do 3-4 runs each, so there should be enough space for everyone. Pay the driver.
- Attendees who can provide lifts are marked in red.

Given messages in other threads, you can probably remove Liqua and Juniper from the list.
The removal of off-line play has sent a shockwave through the community and some people are asking for refunds. Juniper and Liqua are two who have stated that this is the case for them.

Liqua seems particularly angry because he sells his shares of ED
It's such a shame... I hope he pauses for a while and calms down.... Would be a shame to lose him from the community, he's a cracking guy really.
He invested £ 5000 in the game (and certainly a significant amount in the shares). I can understand his anger and hope he will calm down and return to the great family of ED. As said in other threads, Frontier should announced that if Ed disappear in the future, all the backers would receive a version of the game offline, to appease the community and everyone is "owner" of his game in solo offline

I have to disagree with you, regarding ED 'disappearing' in the near future. It would make no sense for Frontier to even consider the thing they have put so much time and effort into not being a success. Why would they suddenly start talking about shutting servers down, or any of the other doom and gloom theories being thrown around the forum?
That to me would be a very bad move.
Frontier are a 20 year old business. DB has made software for 30 plus years. That suggests an excellent track record and does not, to me at least, suggest they will be going to disappear.
I can't wait to play ED, I'm a beta backer so it will be soon.
I also plan on supporting the game and playing well into the future.

sorry patrick but this is now bordering on the ridiculous. we live in a decade of unprecedented wealth, comfort and stability for most of us.
i'd love to pick up shares for a few 100k, but that won't happen at a reasonable price. and anyone that bought shares should make a tidy profit now (unless well you know ;p )
importantly none of this talk is relevant to the topic of this thread and just bad vibes flowing over.
I understand what you are saying. I just imagine, and this is pure speculation, that Frontier have a vision for ED that goes way beyond the next few years. And to admit that they don't would show a lack of faith in their own vision.

Coincidentally, there was a 2% dive in Frontier shares last week.

Not actually true... Liqua has requested a refund, but is now having second thoughts about it because it would mean letting down his +1 (Jonty), and as for myself... I haven't requested anything as yet. I've just ranted & blown off a lot of steam and anger at this move.
The anger being the key point. I don't want to request a refund yet as I am still too angry about both the move itself, and the way it was handled.
I'm going to wait until tomorrow night to see what (if anything) Frontier do in response to this. I've been on this ride with them for two years - and played Elite since I was a child, so I owe them that much.
Sorry about putting words into your mouth, Juniper. I hope I didn't cause any embarrassment. I was merely going on what you had said yesterday.
Let's hope that something positive happens, though I know for many this has completely shattered their trust in Frontier's word.
