I mean: were we just sure this was going to work day 1? I thought we were pretty sure the move to live was going to be problematic (which it is). But there are adds over 3.18 to try to bring in...robertsspaceindustries.com

The most likely option will be to re-open the 3.18 general PTU for regression testing...running alongside the broken live patch. It's been a common occurrence thus far if there have been active issues with any of the previous live patches
The only problem with that option is that PTU participation as a whole has been steadily falling over the last 2 years as older backers increasingly can't be bothered and very few of the new generation of backers are interested to begin with.
It's quite evident that 3.18 wasn't ready for live release...more so for those of us who participated in the entire PTU cycle from the end of last year....but yet again, a purely marketing decision to lever in a Q1 ship sale forced the dev's hands.

I managed to get in last night, climbed out of bed and fell through multiple floors until I hit a solid surface like Wiley Coyote. Respawned in a hospital buck naked apart from an open backed hospital gown. My ass is cold and I've no idea where my clothes are.
I've had a few weekends like that too

That is true. But this patch has been particularly broken. Way beyond the regular poor delivery standard of CIG. Jury is still out there about if this is just a temporary glitch or something more persistent (see what I did there?) and fundamental.
