Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

All money pledged will go towards development of the game. Well, that and marketing, i mean, mainly marketing, but some development will be done we promise!
And yachts.

Ah DOS, editing Himem.sys, Config.sys to boot up some games, lol!
Ah memories. My family got a 486 IBM at 1994. One of the first things I did to it, was remowing last line in autoexec.bat. That "win" line. Next time my stepfather booted up machine he started to complain "kids have broken it" :D Well I explained to him what I did, why I did, and what he needs to do to get play Win3.11 Solitaire :D And if he does not like it he can himself edit system files :D

Not impossible. If the database keeps corrupting under load even CIG will have trouble arguing this thing is 'playable now' ¯\(ツ)/¯
The most likely option will be to re-open the 3.18 general PTU for regression testing...running alongside the broken live patch. It's been a common occurrence thus far if there have been active issues with any of the previous live patches 🤷‍♂️

The only problem with that option is that PTU participation as a whole has been steadily falling over the last 2 years as older backers increasingly can't be bothered and very few of the new generation of backers are interested to begin with.

It's quite evident that 3.18 wasn't ready for live release...more so for those of us who participated in the entire PTU cycle from the end of last year....but yet again, a purely marketing decision to lever in a Q1 ship sale forced the dev's hands.

I don't know why they're complaining, as far as I know none of CIG's updates and patch had gone smoothly. it's basically the norm now.
I'm probably wrong, no one can be that incompetent.
That is true. But this patch has been particularly broken. Way beyond the regular poor delivery standard of CIG. Jury is still out there about if this is just a temporary glitch or something more persistent (see what I did there?) and fundamental.
