Call for assistance -- Subject D-2 missing and in danger -- Ngaruayanka system

Ha,
"Will you answer the call?" :sneaky:

Curious where this is going though.
From the sound of it, D-2 has something to finish with Salvation, and she's not in cahoots with the Thargoids because of her concern about their arrival, it's probably more that she has this unwanted attachment to them and can use that to her advantage by yelling for some Goid ships to swoop in and attack what's in her way. I doubt the Thargoids see her as anything more than some non-Thargoid creature covered in their 'scent'.
And Salvation is most likely still alive in some capacity, unfortunately. Seems like weak story telling to keep Salvation around like that but I guess we can't ask for epic ballad writing from FDev.

The subject of the message, rather than the body itself looks like a system name. E-*ENGHY.....6E...88-#@
Along with the rest of the text

6E moon of planet 6
88 part of the sector number
W4 ditto
AT ditto
Not sure how we work out what sector its in but there has to be a way

Looking at the obvious stuff

After pouring over the recent messages, converting the contents to ASCII, and then running those numbers through a defibrillator I've modified to reconvert ASCII into Elite Dangerous puzzle solutions using a tin can and several feet of copper wire I tore out of an adjacent building, I have been able to reach the following conclusions, which hopefully will rock this community to its core:
  1. The Thargoids are very angry bug people.
  2. Shooting the very angry bug people is good.
  3. If we shoot enough very angry bug people, they might go away.
Now listen... I know this is a lot to wrap your heads around, and I completely understand if you need time to adjust to these incredible findings. If you want to, please feel free to respond with new information that will help me complete my treatise on the Thargoid war, which at the present time is tentatively titled "Very Angry Bug People: An Exploratory Scientific Paper on Shooting Them and Why Shooting Them is Good".

For my part, I did a very thorough inspection of the bathtub while my wife was taking a bath. I didn't find any clues for D-2's location, but I'm going to search her pajamas tonight when she goes to bed.
Please forward your findings to me. If you discover anything more about the very angry bug people and why we should shoot more of them in those pajamas, do not waste even a moment. That information is vital to the ongoing effort to finish my terrible book.

Speaking of which, we all thought FD goofed when they did the salvation cut scene and saw Nemesis on the screens thinking it was a mistake. It seems it may not have been a mistake at all. In which case, FD, sorry about doubting you on that one.
Or conversely, are just capitalising on prior community speculation. It's a stock standard technique... for no reason people pour heaps of analysis into something which is otherwise mundane... even at the detriment of following the main plot, so don't tell people they're wrong (looking at you Gan Romero)... make something of it.

I think 6E-88 is the signal in the Morse code.
I tried to rebuild the Morse Code, got stuck so I typed 6E-88, pressed the start button and the given signal sounds like the Morse Code in game.
Can someone confirm that?

There is no morse code. The black box sounds are exactly the same on every black box. Confirmed that myself. Had several people (including one who doesn't even play ED) jump on the morse code analysis.
Only later decided to go investigate other black boxes and yea, same sounds. Same "message".

I never figured out anything that took me to the debris field 🤷
What do you mean? From the first system, you're being sent to Shangdi. There you find a conversation with 4 more systems to check. In one of them, you find the last message.

All used signal sources have their own names and no timer, which makes it easy to differentiate when using the FSS or the signal panel. Hope that helps. o7

I looked for planets with a 6e in a 40-45ly range.
Found one. Name seemed familiar.
Went there.
Saw "unauthorised installation" around it, thought that was definitely worth checking out.
Entirely unrelated.
Realised why the system was familiar.
Swung by harvestport and filled my hold with onionhead. Yanno, just 'cause I was in the neighbourhood.
