A slightly moot point since we're having a wipe (of some sort) with the 3.18.1 patch...supposedly due this week, but in typical Ci~G style...didn't show up

Open letter to CIG and RSI - Star Citizen Spectrum
Dear CIG and RSI, as we all know we are going through a very hard time regarding accessability of LIVE servers and useability of inventory, asop terminals, pledged ships and playing missions. Based...robertsspaceindustries.com
They WARNED US that 3.18 was going to be messy.
Have they gone yet?...Is it safe to come back out after the invasion of the physics grid nerds?
Weirdest passive-aggressive debate ever...it was like guiltily peeking at nuns fighting over the wall of a convent

Should have added one where he promised the game would be full featured (kickstarter?)
This is part of the effort by some backers to claim that ALL of the problems with 3.18 are due to large player load. The typical suspects are pushing this myth:Open letter hype

No, it's Alpha.Is it fixed yet ?
Whichever way it works, it works very well in an ongoing fashion. I don't think what you suggest would be feasible, not because it would prove the counter point of it not being a nested physics grid, but because instancing distance limits would mean that there wouldn't be an opportunity for the other preson to join the instance to wave at the other player. Here's an interesting idea though. We know planets orbit in real time (with their own plane of gravity) in ED. We know there are some ridiculously close orbits in the game. Can we get a player on one body waving to another on a close body (with their own plane of gravity) that is close enough for you to see them (maybe via an executioner scope)? Would that satisfy you?![]()

As we all saw on streams, it was not "fine during the week".
CIG are that serious about poaching Elite users that they'd go through all of that? Interesting. And of course, this came at no cost to the development of any kickstarter promises I suppose? Makes you wonder what else they'd do...Not surprised by that.
All of the revived interest in SC for racing is due, really, to one player: BlackMaze
His enthusiasm for racing has been fully supported by CIG. They are making race tracks in game based off of what BlackMaze and his group have done.
All of this is due to him.
Before SC, he was a racer/canyon runner in Elite.
Odyssey wrecked that for him.

you might know him better by this series of videos

regardless, any of the new racing stuff is directly correlated to odysseythe bed.
I'd say "waves of instability" is accurateIt's genuinely hard to know if it's getting better or worse...
To be fair, almost all of us who've been with this dumpster fire for a while and were active during the lengthy PTU phase said exactly the same thing...as well as pointing out that the premature release was forced solely to facilitate a marketing event.I'd say "waves of instability" is accurate
CIG released 3.18 because they wanted to run a ship sale:

The PTU was full of continuous problems, even without a "large player load". Even Berks says the patch should not have been released, and he played it almost every day.

It's not that difficult to work it out even without reading between the lines, it was blatantly obvious![]()
They have not stolen enough ED players yet then...
I don't know how much I trust that chart, but I give Chris Roberts full credit for finding a way to monetize games in a way no other games had ever managed.
