Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Cool content coming. I know you don't like it ;)

i dont like these derelict outposts, at least not for stanton. maybe in some backwater system out on the fringes.

in a system with a entire planet that is a city, on a planet owned by some fancy super tech company, if i crash i just live there now? please. and i am not a super big immersion person, but really? its like if i run out of gas on the highway between big cities, my car is my new house.

maybe on hurston i could cut some slack. but the evil hurston corp is just gonna let the squatters stay there.

and dont get me started about putting them on moons with no breathable atmosphere.

any of the more normal looking settlements they have shown over the years would be a large improvement.

On Hurston, workers are almost slaves (Life/Labor-Style Employee Contracts). There are many poor people and some of them prefer to live in the wild in a wreck they found (not their ship). As new wrecks are frequent, it is easy for them to find spare parts to build their outpost.
The shanties are built with the easiest materials to find.

that might be a thing you can relate to in a third world country like france. but no civilized country is putting up with that now, much less a thousand years in the future.

?
Shanties exist since poor people + dump exist. If you fly around Hurston, the planet has whole regions covered by dump and civilized doesn't mean they have no poor people...

Just play Cyberpunk 2077 and you'll find shanties in and outside the city.

I'm not sure invoking Cyberpunk 2077's fidelitous Night City, with its thousands of authentic-looking homeless NPCs living in hundreds of diverse squats, tent-packed underpasses, and makeshift shanties, is a wise comparison to CIG's efforts with its few homeless NPC locations so far.
CP77 is a solo game around a single city, easier to do.
I was just giving an exemple to Sovapid saying that slum doesnt' exist in civilized nation in SF.
