What is Your Favorite Animal? Do You Think That it Will Fit in the Game?

If the title doesn't make sense, basically, will your favorite animal fit being in the game, or is there a close enough species that satisfies you enough?

Like, for example: my all time favorite is the thylacine, but realistically it won't fit.

My favorite extant animal is the North American gray fox. As much as I'd want them, I highly doubt that, if added, they would bring anything new or unique.

So, what about y'all?

Malaysian Tapir. Unfortunately it is not really in the game 😀.
Second favourite but favourite species which is not in the game is the Kirks Dik Dik. It has a middle number of votes but I would say it would fit to the game. It is very unique in contrast to the antelopes within the game. It is very small, looks sweet and lives in monogame pairs instead of herds.

A fox that is adapted to climb trees, I think that is unique enough to warrant a spot on the roster!

The African bush elephant is my favorite, and it ended up being the first animal shown in the announcement trailer, so no worries there lol.

Aside from that the North Island brown kiwi is another favorite, and I think it would make a wonderful addition to the game. It's part of two of the most underrepresented animal groups/areas in the game (birds and Oceania) and is a very unique animal at that, both visually and habitat design wise. It has a pretty good number of meta-wishlist votes (91!), but I'm split on how likely it is. It's definitely not one of those species that I'm sure we'll get eventually (like the leopard was), but I don't think it's out of the question either. I just worry it has too much competition in most pack themes I can think of except for maybe an Oceanian or bird animal pack. Any other species of kiwi will satisfy me though, as even if the other species are significantly less common in zoos I'll be overjoyed to have one at all.

My ultimate favorite animal is the Cassowary I think, already in the game, my second favorite is probably the Leopard Seal, and I think the realism-lovers destroyed any chance of ever having those...

Favorite mammel: Leopard Seal, Giant Anteater or Sable Antelope
Favorite bird: Cassowary, Harpy Eagle, and Secretary Bird
Favorite Reptile: Gharial, Green Anaconda and Frilled Lizard
Favorite Amphibian: Giant Salamander and any poisonarrow Frog
Favorite Fish: Electric Eel, Blue Marlin, Manta and Thresher Shark
Favorite Insect/Arachnid/thing: Any Mantis, Mantis Shrimp and Giant Centipede
Favorite other: Crown of Thorns, Bobbit Worm

This is pretty hard, I have so many favorites!!

Mine is the maned wolf which is already in game. Besides that my favorites are the short beaked echidna (which is really popular and will probably get in) and the NZ fur seal (my favorite pinniped and I've gotten to see it in the wild. The seal, while possible, dosent have the best chance though. I'll take a Brown Fur Seal over it if need be though.

Among my favorite animals most of them are in the game already (red panda, jaguar, okapi, tiger, elephant, maned wolf).

Of the ones that are not some i don't think they will fit nor i am sure that i even want them in game (orca, dolphin) but some i hope will be implemented in some way ( harpy eagle, quetzal, nicobar pigeon).

Only the ocelot, secretary bird, scarlet ibis, roseatte spoonbill and mandarin duck i see likely with the current mechanics though.

My favourite animals are the carnivorous marsupials of the order Dasyuromorphia; when people ask me IRL I tend to default to “quolls” as my answer, but in truth they're all so good that I struggle to pick a favourite amongst them! It's not just the larger and more well-known (relatively speaking) species that I love either - I find many of the small, mouse-sized animals that make up the bulk of the order to be just as fascinating.

When it comes to PZ, Dasyuromorphia is one of those mammalian orders that still completely lacks any representation in-game - but, thankfully, the Tasmanian devil is an almost guaranteed inclusion at this point due to its sheer popularity. For other species though, their chances are slim to non-existent. Of the few that are suitable to be habitat animals, the thylacine is extinct, the quolls are obscure and the numbat is extremely rare in zoos. All other species in the order would probably only be viable if exhibit box mammals became a thing, and if so I doubt the likes of fat-tailed dunnarts, kowaris and red-tailed phascogales would be at the top of most people's agenda. Still, I'm very glad the amount of support the devil has gotten over the years means that we're almost certain to get one dasyuromorph in the game at least!
