Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

I don’t know if it will or not. But you seemed pretty sure that because the removal from the store it meant its “release” was “imminent”. But then you backtracked “imminent” to “soon” and “perhaps” instead. And also backtracked “release” to “big news” instead 🤷‍♂️

And so, following all your backtracking, if it is not “imminent” anymore and if it is not “release” anymore, then the removal of SQ404 from the store probably points to a more significant issue than just a price change.
I really feel sorry for you. I say that SQ42 is imminent without giving you a specific date, so you will not be able to post the day after that I'm a loser if SQ42 si not at least in beta.
Too bad, you will had to define what delay 'imminent' is !

Not long now until some of the old 10 year bans handed out on Spectrum start to expire.
This is amazing. Since development really started in 2016, they have been already banning people two years before they started working on the game(s).

I dunno, I think LittleAnt may be right about announcement at citcon; but those cut scenes won’t have much flesh holding them together..
Info has it, is they’re ploughing through these cut scenes ..
Oh, pretty sure SQ42 will be a topic somehow in the CitCon. Like in many past CitCons. Hardly a surprise there. Plus they need to address Star Field… I wouldn’t be surprised either if at some point in the future CIG announces some kind of limited prologue episode (wether it is real or more pie in the sky) with a new price.

But none of that really justifies CIG removing SQ42 from sale today. Especially if the release is in fact not really imminent. We ve had imminent date announcements with shiny Hollywood actors in the past, vertical slices etc all “imminent”and arguably also ripe for an eventual price change. SQ42 was never removed from sale in those though.

It'll be interesting what to see what they'll do at CitizenCon, as by then (October 21) Starfield will have been out for over a month. Perhaps '...we were going to show you [something that would blow your minds], but at the last minute [a stock excuse] happened, so we're not able to......'

You might imagine that they'll feel some/considerable pressure to lift the covers on SQ404 to try and calm/excite their supporters. It would be 'cute' if Chris annouced a Christmas release, just as he did three or four years back, only for that debacle to collapse into farce in January.

I don't mine people being invested in and excited about this game, but what seems odd is the enduring 'free pass' some choose to give them, on the basis of 'jam tomorrow next month year sometime maybe', particularly given the track record (see the line above).

It would be interesting to learn how much time and effort CIG are already spending to showcase elements that Chris has copied they like from the deep-dive.

Still. Early days yeah!?

No matter what happens at the con for citizens this year, I am looking forward to digesting and breaking it apart here with all of you fine folks :coffee:
My bet is on the soooo long awaited sequel to Road To Citizencon :D

This or special offer ($100) every SQ42 owner get a "free" copy of Starfield to ease the pain of waiting for the magnum opus.

Final score:
Starfield: 12, Star Citizen: 2
Ouch.

Something else I didn't realise was just how many solo players there are in Star Citizen. I'd love to see the true percentages. Anyone know? It would shed light on the single-player vs multiplayer comparison, which I readily admit is important (but not to me... give me a good single player game any day).
Similar to ED...is the easiest way to answer that. It's multiplayer but a good many end up playing on their own. Saying that, it's far easier to group up with some randoms for company and/or missions etc than ED ever was, global chat helps in that respect...there's always folk asking for or giving others a hand on every server I've ever been on.
