I don't have pictures of the actual exhibit, but in my local zoo in the new "Israel area" they modeled several new exhibits after the Ein Gedi Oasis near the dead sea, including the porucpine, leopard and rock hyrax.you should! because it gonna be my best habtat that I ever build (a least that is my plan...) I don't know I still didn't thought about how to design the habitat because their habitats looks boring and they don't deserve but at the same time I'm building highly realistic so idk~ you have maybe photos of porcupine habitat? someone have? I need to think even though they gonna have their own section in my zoos because that is what they deserve!
That's a great idea actually.what if we gonna get quills as a pieces?
that is really beautiful!!! thank you so much! I really will try to think of how I'm gonna design the P-E-R-F-E-C-T porcupine habitat! but I will try to take some inspiration from this cool image!I don't have pictures of the actual exhibit, but in my local zoo in the new "Israel area" they modeled several new exhibits after the Ein Gedi Oasis near the dead sea, including the porucpine, leopard and rock hyrax.

This picture of a pond at the oasis gives a general vibe of the new porcupine exhibit. White rock, pond with waterfall, and lot's of oasis vegetation. The exhibit itself has a small pond and many toys for the porcupines.
I hope it's just animation/behavior because porcupines raise their quills often but in steam they also saying "but might raise its impressive quills if feeling cautious" idk what it means but I hope it doesn't doing it only if your stress option is turned on! and it would do it as a behaviorSince they mentioned in the post, I wonder if they'll have the quills raise up in their defensive position. I know they only do that when scared or stressed, which isn't what you want for your zoo animals, but still..it's a notable reaction.
Ohh, they look so good! Definitely the animal I'm looking forward to the most in this pack!View attachment 358782
African Crested Porcupine - Arid Animal Pack!
- gxgjxkhdkdkydkhdkhfjvjfj!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I'M SCREAMING~ UNREAL!!!!!!!! I HAVING HEART ATTACK!!!!! SOMEONE CALL AMUBLANCE!!!!!!!!!!! I'M CRYING!
On the other hand, if it's not the game, I can understand completely. I imagine the porcupine was very time consuming to do, adding in more specific animations to that would be very tiring! But still will hope they did. the more, the better!I have seen porcupines with raised quills when they strech. Cutest thing ever. Hope it will be in game.
This could also be an argument in favor of it.On the other hand, if it's not the game, I can understand completely. I imagine the porcupine was very time consuming to do, adding in more specific animations to that would be very tiring! But still will hope they did. the more, the better!
Yeah looking at it I think it's clear why they went with simpler animals for the rest of the pack.In my opinion the porcupine is the most complicated animal model Frontier ever made and they absolutely nailed it. Therefore I'd say it's the best looking animal ingame yet.
We've seen it in the conservation pack. 3 standard animals and the brand new gibbon. The idea that the Porcupine took a lot of time and effort to create, thus needing less time/effort intrinsic animals to offset it makes a lot of sense. Which, that's always been the case, we've just never seen the balance quite to this degree. But it's fine. I know we'll withhold final judgement of it until we actually have it in our games, but it's extremely well done.
