For those interested, here's the manual for the watch (not sure how official it is):

Watch manual link obtained from Reddit:

Sorry, couldn't link the Reddit page is for some reason it messed with the link; left it as plain text "icode".

Google search for the model number in the firmware pic.. "LPV6" watch.. returns a reddit link which has this link:

Looks like what they submitted for some certification, which is where the manual came from. That's where i decided to stick with the controller and headset :) Its okay, i think just for my personal measure it needs to be a few hundred cheaper.

Given how hard it is to keep up with the deluge of modern game communications these days, I don't know if Bethesda has ever answered the most important question I have about Starfield: will I be able to trade between ports of call? The cargo holds you can add to your ship implies "yes," but still...

Not sure what you mean, but you can set up trade routes own multiple ships and hire crew to control these ships without you being with them. So if you want to make a large space truck hauling company you can do that, how it will work we don't know 100% yet only that it can be done.

Do you have a primary source for this?

One of the backgrounds are long hauler so....

looking at companions you can see that you can own multiple ships and outposts and assign the crew and give them tasks, as i said we don't know how it all will work but the mechanics are there.

Folk keep reminding me what a fool I am for pre-ordering Starfield...mainly for the fact that it's a Bethesda game. In my case, I pre-ordered it for exactly that reason...since I've enjoyed 99% of all the Bethesda games I've ever bought or played from Daggerfall onwards...despite the legendary bugs or day one release nightmares associated in general with Bethesda titles. I suspect in this case however, owing in part to Microsoft's (and AMD's) added input and involvement, that Starfield will possibly be one of the better PC ports of the last few years.

Gameplay wise, I know just from past experience with Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3 and 4 etc that it's practically guaranteed I'll enjoy every minute of Starfield from day one...bugs or no bugs 🤷‍♂️

Same.

I'm pretty much against pre-ordering in general, but when a company has a good track record, i'm willing to trust them with cash up front.

Its like having some work done on your house. A random builder asking for cash up front wouldn't get it. But if it was a builder who had done work for me before, been reliable, and did a good job, i wouldn't hesitate to give them the cash up front.

Skyrim was a day 1 purchase for me and I must’ve been lucky in not seeing bugs - in the few hundred hours I played I think I had one quest trigger go wonky which required me to revert to a save point. Same with SkyrimVR - I had one Radiant bandit chief missing that required some console commands, and some dodgy NPC pathing leading to the ever popular running-on-the-spot-in-front-of-a-wall manoeuvre, but that’s been about it.

I’ve got the game preordered without any worries - if there are any particularly egregious bugs, they’ll get fixed in short order and any others will eventually get seen in patch notes as “fixed rare instance when…”

Welcome to the club!

I dont think that is tied to gamepasses. The streaming service needs to feature a game in their lineup. How you purchase isnt important. Gamepass itself should probably have a streaming option as a business proposition some day
Gamepass includes Microsoft game streaming services. I can play new releases via streaming (and also play new gen games on my old gen console). You do need a decent connection for it to be worthwhile, though. Didn't work too well on my old BT Broadband line, but works great on fibre.

I pre-ordered on the basis that, having never played a Bethesda game before, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt; everyone gets at least one chance to prove themselves.

I backed (KS) ED and the first few years were well worth it. Not that interested in it (ED) any more which is another reason to buy into Starfield.

One of the main things that has swayed me also is that it will be moddable. It's as close to open source as you can get without being open source: The API is opened up to all the clever modders out there.

So yeah, they have my backing right now.

I Preordered too, it's a risk of course however I backed many games in my time some turned into gold some into [redacted] and I just love space games so yeah there you go.

I miss the days when games have demos. Had a lot of fun with a couple of friends playing Delta Force 2 demo.

That was the reason I played the first few Battlefield games, played the Battlefield 1942 demo and went on from there to get the full game and eventually play Desert Combat mod int he national league, they were good days, good games, good people. Never managed to get into the latest releases, they never appealed as much as that first version.

Is there some sort of financial incentive for pre-ordering?

It all comes down to personal preference and how disposable yer income is. I've got to watch how I spend my money, and I need to know I'm not buying a turkey before I leap in. Kickstarting Elite IV was different coz it's Elite

Also my internet connection isn't too great. I'd prefer to download just the one time instead of the game and then the patches. I don't even download Elite: Dangerous updates until I know there aren't any patches necessary
