Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

Saw a video today about getting birds (I believe it was Mrs TeaRex) which basically said Frontier is waiting for profits to decrease then spring a birds pack on us and get profits going again to gain attention, what do we think? Is this the way you guys think they're going?
Watched that video a few minutes ago and I'm not sure I buy into the theory. At least... Not from the same angle. I doubt it's because they're waiting for sales to dip (particularly this late into the game's lifecycle). I'm assuming they plan/map out DLC more than one in advance so that would mean they'd have sales dipping for nearly half a year with that approach.

That said, I think there's a possibility they could be waiting for the right time to drop that particular pack to ensure peak interest. Thematically, it's obviously a strong fit for spring and summer. But from a pure "financial" perspective? I would lean toward fall over any other quarter.

The gap between the June pack and the fall pack always feels the longest for folks. So by the time that gets announced, people are in fervor and ready to chat about it. So there's naturally a lot of buzz, people are tending to be indoors more, etc. This also has the added bonus of ramping things up for curiosity about the anniversary pack and the December pack. Because those could potentially involve birds. And people would be eager for more so... You'd get a double quick sales boost compared to if it were just the December pack. And given that sales were slow in December last year? It would make sense for that sort of push.

Now, all of this is assuming birds are coming. Nothing in that video swayed me in any direction. I still think it's very much a coin-toss as to whether or not we actually get an aviary pack or whatever.

I am very doubtful of that. Plans of DLCs are happening way before the actual release, it could be even a whole year ahead as far as we know.

Same it was just something I wanted to see what everyone on here thought of. I’ll always hope for a birds pack no matter what, but I think it would be a poor choice to let profits drop for this long, the last “popular pack” was the grasslands pack but even that one doesn’t compare to the numbers on the earlier packs like aquatic or any of the region based packs.

I missed the coconut lorikeet on that magazine teaser, considering the macaw poster it's probable that if Frontier does macaws they will have a lorikeet as well.

That wouldn't make any sense from a business perspective, why wait until a significant portion of potential profit has left to wait for a expansion. Frontier knows what they are doing, whether birds are part of the vision is entirely speculation.

It's coming...
