Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

Because have y'all met anybody that doesn't love donuts?
here I, they are too sweet and too greasy for me. But it's probably also because I live in Germany, and Germany is just amazing when it comes to baked goods. There are 100 times tastier things than a sweet, sticky, greasy thing with a hole in the middle.
Our "Berliner" alone are better than donuts and they're actually too greasy for me. I only eat them after midnight at new years eve.

I would die for a Tundra Pack! Walrus ❤️ (Musk Ox, Mountain Hare, White-tailed Ptarmigan)

I feel like there should be one Antarctic representative atleast if it’s a tundra pack instead of an Arctic pack. That’s why I added the Adélie penguin
We have the Arctic, himalayas and antarctic to choose from. Not sure why a lot of us are being restricted to the Arctic. Also alpine tundra comes into consideration aswell which is decently represented under the taiga tag.

Serious question: What even would fall under "scenery" for a Tundra pack, at this point? Legit stumped as to what they could include.
Yeah, I don't think there's much scenery that could be done for Tundra either. Don't want more Christmas stuff, we've already got a wood based set that also covers Scandanavia, and the ice/snow building set that covers your general Tundra. I guess they could do a Log Cabin build but that's probably a better place for it.

The other side of that is that aside from the Wolverine and Walrus, there aren't any real strong candidates for being the sales pitch for the pack, so I have a hard time imaging it being an animal pack.. I know I suggested the American Black Bear and the Arctic Hare but in all honesty I would consider them weaker inclusions. Although, the last few packs have been mixed as far as how I feel about the animals, so I could see the Tundra set being the same.

Tundra Animal Pack:
Mountain Hare (Arctic)
Pallas Cat (Himalayas)
Walrus (Arctic)
Musk Ox (Arctic)
Vicuna (Andes)
Yellow-billed Pintail (Andes, Tierra del Fuego, subantarctic islands)
Gentoo Penguin (Antarctica, subantarctic islands)
Kea (Southern Alps) [WE]

EDIT: Somehow forgot the wolverine, whoops. Either replace pretty much anything here or just put them in a taiga pack instead

I don't know why the tundra train is running now, but I think a temperate pack followed by a taiga/alpine pack are more likely than a tundra pack. In any case, a tundra pack with wolverine, walrus and muskox is an instant buy for me, even if they don't add anything else and follows the deluxe model.
Oh yes! I'm forgetting about the Muskox. I think that could also be a good sales point animal.

Animals I want most that live in polar tundra/ice: critically needed>still essential>very cool>maybe someday
  1. American Black Bear: I really want my bear and its many color phases, but I suspect it will come in a temperate pack or for an anniversary
  2. Bald Eagle (WE/aviary): iconic bird, and the main one needed for NA
  3. Snowy Owl (WE/aviary): Hedwig needs to show up if they ever add birds. Kind of tied with the bald eagle.
  4. Wolverine: highly requested animal that adds rep for many continents, and it could fit nicely in a tundra pack even though it's more of a taiga animal
  5. Sea Otter (no subspecies): This otter is unique enough to be very justifiable, kept in captivity, cute, and a staple of both ZT games.
  6. Musk Ox: iconic and popular caprine from the ice age
  7. Golden Eagle (WE/aviary): Covers much of the world
  8. Common Raven (WE/aviary): Covers a lot of regions
  9. Walrus: top ten animal, but I'm not sure about the whole tusks in captivity thing
  10. Pine Marten: Europe needs another critter besides the wolverine, but this would fit better as taiga
  11. Ribbon Seal: I really think a flashy arctic seal like the ribbon or harp would go nicely with our current pinnipeds and the walrus. Maybe a south hemisphere fur seal, too?
  12. Rockhopper Penguin: I really want this penguin
  13. Elk/Wapiti: I'm not sure they live in the tundra, but they're awesome
  14. Ptarmigan (WE/aviary): iconic arctic bird that changes colors with the seasons
  15. Arctic/Snowshoe Hare: rabbits are unique, but I'm not convinced they're worth the effort required right now. If they add them, one that changes colors would be great
  16. Adélie or some other brush tail penguin: Antarctica could have a penguin maybe?
  17. Coyote: For NA, I mainly want a canid that is native to Mexico. I don't want this in a tundra pack
  18. Eider, Tundra Goose, Tundra Swan: pick a waterfowl, but I generally prefer other options
  19. Canadian Lynx: would prefer a bobcat
Animals I want most that live in alpine tundra? (not mentioned above):
  1. Markhor: Very iconic goat. Takins also exist, but my preferred golden is more temperate
  2. Spectacled Bear: very important and popular bear. I don't want to exclude this animal, but I'm not sure it's truly a tundra animal
  3. Pallas's Cat: meme animal and easy to make from the sand cat
  4. Yellow Throated Marten: very pretty
  5. Tahr: I like its fluffy mane, and they were introduced to New Zealand
  6. Yak: cool cow
If I were to make a tundra pack to sell, I would call it the Polar Animal Pack:
  • Wolverine
  • Sea Otter
  • Musk Ox
  • Rockhopper Penguin
  • Walrus
  • Arctic/Snowshoe hare
  • Pine Marten
  • Snowy Owl (WE/aviary)

That's actually a really good line up and name, Polar Pack.

To point out the animal from the Alpine Tundra, I wish we could somehow have the Spectacled Bear work for a Tundra pack, but I think Taiga/Highlands is probably where it would need to fit, at least biome wise. It shouldn't fit under a Polar theme, since it's not at a pole. Though there could be enough confusion in associating "Polar" with "cold", versus what it actually means in a scientific sense.
