Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

It's happened before, it can happen again. All three of our remaining bears are related at the family level. Off the top of my head, we've had that happen... Moose to fallow deer (same family), European badger to ASCO (same family even if they look and feel more different), fennec fox to arctic fox (same genus!), and twice now we've even gotten two members of a single family in the same pack with the Nile lechwe and wild water buffalo and more recently with the dama gazelle and addax.

If we get three more packs, I want to see three more bears.

If we only get two more packs, I still want to see three more bears.
But those example also look very different. The remaining bears are all black and on the smaller side. No comparrison to moose/deer and especially not badger/otter lechwe/buffalo imo

Locking in my final prediction:
Woodlands Scenery Pack (aka Temperate and Taiga mixed together)

Tasmanian Devil
Northern Brown Kiwi
Wild Boar
Wolverine
Painted Turtle

This is what I expect, not what I hope for...though I'd be really happy with the roster. I'd also be very happy with an Islands, Temperate, Highlands, Amazon, Avian or Marine pack.

My feeling is that it's a more massive expansion type pack and awesome enough to tease us for another week. I will bet for a very different calendar with why not teases of the big announcement via sneak peeks of the update between tomorrow and Monday. And let Monday's livestream be less of a sort of guessing game as usual and more of a presentation of the content... maybe... birds.

I do wonder why the large time gap between announce and the actual livestream.
Could be any number of things. Maybe they just figured it would get people talking for the next week, get content creators speculating on the speculation, etc. And honestly that's maybe the most realistic (albeit less optimistic) scenario, I think. Maybe they just legit want to keep people chill and stop the "doom talk" this time around, hah.

While I'm hoping for a feature update this week/sometime soon, I feel like they would have said "more info coming soon" or whatever they usually say when an announcement is coming within the next day or so. But who knows...

And why are they talking about shacking and mixing things ? Hmmm
It’s either islands or Caribbean with them making drinks, or they’re cooking and it’s a petting zoo pack. I don’t see how this could relate to a temperate pack tbh.

Or it could be an aviary pack with them cooking. One of the main ingredients in food is eggs so I could see it if they did it right.

Oh here we are discussing the Eurasian brown bear again. As you know I'm totally in favour of it since I consider that their omission in the base game in favour of the hbb was a huge mistake, so I would consider its potential inclusion as a way of fixing that old mistake.

That being said, some people say they would prefer getting a new different looking animal instead of the European bear. I think we all agree in that. A wolverine, or a bird or a monkey would be better than an Eurasian brown bear. But we all know that the game also adds similar animals (what we call reskins or clones) and if we would ever get the bear, it would take one of these slots, it wouldn't come at the expense of a new rigged animal. Maybe it would replace a second cebra or another gazelle or another crocodile (I guess we can also pretend one of the existing crocs or caimans are from Africa).

I wonder what would happen if they added the Eurasian brown bear as an extra animal, so a pack with 5 animals and 1 exhibit instead of just 4 animals. Would people complain about its inclusion then even if it was something extra that didn't take any slot?

And again if we had the Eurasian brown bear but we didn't have the grizzly bear, would people be asking for the grizzly?

Those are just my thoughts, I don't want to convince anyone, just explaining my personal point of view 😊
If the base game only had Eurasian Brown beat I wouldn't asking for grizzly cause I don't care much about sepearte subspecies. They can all breed with eachother so their the same animal in my eyes, that's what colormorphs are for.

My bet is an all ungulates pack...jk jk

I'm still thinking it's gonna be temperate focused pack with Tassie as the headliner and I'd love to also see the Kiwi (or any bird).

Maybe by "mixing things up" they'll change how DLCs are released or how many animals are to a pack? It's been suggested a few times to have some kind of one off animal a month release/subscription type thing.

I think the mixing things up and shaking things up they’re trying to tease what they’ll do in the livestream. You could be right though. Who knows?

Mixing it up...what if... the animals themselves mixing it up with behaviours and anatomy that 'break the mold' for their arch type.

This is interesting. Could DLC’s now be released through a subscription service? This would enable Planet Zoo to continue as long as the number of subscribers make it viable? Would encourage a continued investment which would help Frontier considering how they seem to be doing financially from what I’ve read in the news.

Please not another subscription service. There are way too many for me to keep up with already.
