If we are going temperate I would want this:

1. Tasmanian Devil
2. North Island Brown Kiwi
3. Mallard Duck
4. Wild Boar
5. For the exhibit animal: European glass lizard, European tree frog, a stag beetle, or a mantis

And that would still fit what people are saying. NA scenery is the opposite of what we got in 2021 hence the theory

And also, the reason why some people say it's a North American temperate pack is because the other fall DLC have been based off of temperate North America.

To get nit-picky, if you look at the whole context of what is posted, it clearly intends to mean NA animals. After all, he is basing it also on Twilight DLC having NA animals despite Twilight not having a NA theme. So the reply is intended to refer to NA animals, not theme.

While the ABB would be nice, I’ve seen them in my own backyard! I would rather have another habitat bird, if I make a NA zoo I have no birdies to use. This game lacks waterfowl, so I would like a mallard/ ruddy/ wood duck. These guys are kept in zoos around the world, and the mallard has massive distribution. It can even be used to represent domestic ducks. Maybe the ducks can even get an interspecies bonus with the beaver and moose, it can make some cute exhibits.

My second choice would be a burrowing owl, I know everyone is saying the next pack will be temperate, but there are few birds that represent the Americas better. And I mean “Americas” literally, it’s found from North America all the way into South America. In fact the burrowing owl is one of the only animals “benefiting” from deforestation for more pastures.

If we are being realistic with the next DLC being temperate, then the wild Turkey would be cool. It can also be used as a domestic animal stand in, but personally I would want the other two more.

If the temperate dlc had to have a NA rep I would hope it would be one of these three over the ABB (it would be cool to have though)

Assuming that's the pack (and it might not be; I feel compelled to keep repeating that) they may not even refer to it as a "North American" building set. They might just call it "woodlands" or "temperate" or "forest" or whatever... And it would still compliment the NA pack and hold to that theory, TBH.

Yes, but we aren't saying that it's solely NA roster. We're saying it'll complement the NAAP. Tropical pack was mixed regions, but overall the pack felt like a 2nd SEA pack (and also an islands pack, unfortunately)

Arid clearly fits the Africa pack, no contest.

If this is really the pattern, then the next pack, aka the Woodlands pack, will have a scenery set that'll match the North American roster better than what we currently have and feature at least 1 NA animal

But here's where I think the geographical mirroring theory is sort of flawed. The NA Animal Pack roster was pretty diverse. We had the aquatic California Sea Lion, the tropical American Alligator, the plains Prairie Dog, the woodlands Beaver and Moose, the cold Arctic Fox, the mountain Cougar, and the ubiquitous American Bullfrog.

Unlike the SE Asian pack which was purely tropical, NA is all over the place. Hence the geographical theme fitting theory (as I like to call it) is less probable for NA compared to SE Asia.

Hence I prefer the "biome mirroring" theories which frees up a lot more possibilities to speculate about over any geographical theory.

Yes, that is true. However, you could also say that the SEA pack is geographically diverse. Many of the animals in that pack are from the mainland as well, such as India and China.

Also, when you think about it, sea lions, pumas, gators, beavers, bullfrogs, and moose fit the fall climate. They are found in woodlands, and I see many videos about pumas in forests, not mountains. I see gators, beavers, and bullfrogs in swampy woodlands that aren't necessarily tropical, but more temperate.

It's not a huge stretch to think that a future NA compliment pack could have, theoretically, a log cabin theme, as all these animals would match it

Simply the american bison is heavier and has more hair, they generally look much larger. European is taller and has a longer tail and horns.

European bison has a less pronounced ridge and a smaller head. Not different enough for me to warrant it being added to the game. But to each their own.
