Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

I was thinking, but imagine if, in the PlanZo universe, each new DLC signifies newly discovered species in that world🤣

"Breaking news, summer 2023. We just discovered an animal that resembles the large cats, but a great deal smaller and lives solely in deserts."

"What will we call it?"

"The sand cat"

"We sure have been discovering a lotta cats lately, huh? I mean, we just discovered the caracal back in December 2022, and the Amur leopard in summer 2022. What's next?!"

After watching Leaf's latest video, I think I'm sold on the idea of an Oceania pack. A lot of the temperate talk is fueled by the tasmanian devil and the kiwi, anyway, so we're 50% there anyway. Why not go full-bore and loop in two other highly requested animals in the top 15 (tree kangaroo and echidna) and finally get a species of bird via WTE?

Plus, that animal roster would still line-up with the "rustic woodland" theming folks are speculating on for a temperate pack, anyway. Less likely given the way they've been labeling and naming packs but... Again, we've been thrown curveballs before!

I think we’ll definitely get atleast one Oceania animal (I think two) but I really wouldn’t bet on the whole pack

Wouldn’t bet on an Oceania pack, been so long since we had gotten a continental pack and I doubt they would start it now.

I wish American zoos had more European species. It feels like in Europe we have pretty good North American collections in comparison.

Worth to mention Europe has nothing to offer in wildlife department what NA (or even USA alone) dont have. NA is like Europe, but better lol.

NA and europe share alot of their animals, or atleast have very close equivalents.
So it makes sense to keep the species thats native to your area. For example why would a Us Zoo keep european beavers when the american one is assumeably way more accessable and has more to offer education wise.
From my observation i can they that the NA animals that are common in european zoo are the ones without close relatives like raccoons and skunks

Yea NA is just a larger continent with more diverse biomes and more unurbanized areas. Most of the cool unique European wildlife was killed off. (Same for a lot of cool NA stuff like ground sloths and camels but size and diversity prevailed)

I agree with you both as far as likelihood is concerned and when I said I was "sold" on the idea it wasn't about likelihood so much about how cool it could be. That roster coupled with the scenery would be fire compared to what folks are speculating for the "temperate" pack, IMHO (and I'm using that term very subjectively and relatively; I think both concepts/rosters have a lot of potential to be great). Just that when I re-thought of the Oceania concept it got me all excited. LOL
