Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Yes, there is rumour the "tiles" are possibly puzzle pieces that fit together but transitioning is buggy. As in, you know, a state CIG knows about for 11 years and dont gives a fark. Maybe in a couple years seamless SF is possible without too many bugs. There is really not much what SC has in "tech" that makes it special. And if we're being honest SC most unique feature is how broken and bugged it is. That's pretty much the only thing where it outshines Bethesda devs now.
I wonder if this is because square tiles don't fit on globes too well?

Are there still Citizens saying stuff like "thre's more content in Star Citizen Alpha than [insert game] will ever have"?

Major slow down on this thread, is everyone playing Starfield or something?

I love video games, and I work in the industry. It makes me flipping sad to see the hope people have for this game, because I just don’t think this company cares nearly as much. Honestly, I feel that they just see selling ships as their main source of revenue, and because so many people buy them they don’t really have a sense of urgency to complete the game. To them, it’s already complete everything else are just game updates.

Think about it. They have a PTU (public test universe) where they test new builds, that is separate from the alpha. This makes no sense. It’s an alpha, the game itself is a PTU. They have a huge marketing fund. They have a citizen con event for a game that isn’t even released.

If only we could make a concerted effort to boycott the game, maybe that would give them a sense of urgency, because they are partially banking on our hope. This hope is like an addiction that keeps us coming back, and they know this. How long will it last? Not sure, but if they have a data team that’s been modeling this as part of their revenue forecasts, than I guarantee you they don’t plan on releasing a full version of this game anytime soon.

It’s a damn shame. But this is CiGs business model for star citizen.

That does not preclude a 4.0 right after I suppose. It is only September after all, no?
Right now, I can't optimistically predict 4.0 before Q2 or Q3 2024. We'll more than likely end this year on 3.21 or 3.22.x being shoved out to PTU for the duration of the winter break :)

I could also really push the limits of the guessing game by suggesting that Sqn 404 may end up as a joint PS5 (or perhaps an as yet unannounced Chinese console)/PC exclusive after someone dropped a huge clanger at a recent Chinese bar citizen...perhaps this is part of the reasoning behind it's removal from the web store? Discussions please ;)
