Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

What would be the headliner animal and line up for a eductional pack??
Hmm good question! Coati might be a good bet because they are one of the best arboreal climbers and one of the only animals that can climb downwards head first. I remember seeing that in a live animal display once. They also love different scents, seems odd but our local wildlife park asks for donations of perfumes and scents to make enrichment for them.

Hawks and falcons are always interesting at these things.

Parrots for their intelligence and ability to communicate in human language (read about grey parrots if you haven't already).
Edit: also super important to educate about the illegal pet trade and conservation.

Squirrel and tamarind monkeys / marmosets for WE talks.

I'd love a southern tamandua as well, they are delightfully stupid apparently 😅

In my earlier speculation I tired to came up with pattern of animals that could be tied to Educational theme. I thought choices for animals could be the ones that have connections to famous zoologists (Linneaus's Two Toed Sloth, Darwin's Rhea, Geoffroy's Spider Monkey...) or maybe animals that present a precedent in zoology (Echidna, Tuatara...) or something else...

Literally everything is possible, most people on the forums agree that a line up of african dwarf goat, waterfowl, south american monkey, second south american animal most often mara or coati and a parrot for the WE would be the best setup for such a pack and im inclined to agree
I think Educational pack could or rather should have different roster to Children's Pack. As in: Why would Educational Pack have goats and waterfowl?

Educational doesn't need to be limited to children's learning

Def agree with the zoological interest idea, but I think the famous zoologist one is unlikely as it would be seen as a very colonnial take, ie these animals were only "discovered" by these european white guys, when local populations knew about them for eons already. UK culture is doing its best to move away from this way of naming and talking about the world now (we have a lot to make up for that we never will, but we at least try with our language nowadays in academic circles).

Drop the goat and it’s great.
Personally I want the goat, I 100% understand why some people don’t though.

Llamas by themselves make a poor farm area, but if you give me the goats it’s believable enough to work. I don’t want a lot of domestic animals, but just enough to make a cute farm! Almost every zoo I visit has one, so I would like to replicate it in my zoo game
