Africa - Red River Hog
Australia - Common Wombat
North America - Wolverine
South East Asia - Lar Gibbon
Arctic - Muskox
Aquatic - Asian Small Clawed Otter (I don't care that it would have been two otters)
South America - Capybara
Deluxe - Amur Leopard

If we're doing updates, since it's been two DLC for mine as well

The changes from above:

South America - Maned Wolf
Aquatic - (this one's actually the most difficult now for me) - Australian Pelican
Europe - Wild Boar
Wetlands - Shoebill Stork
I feel like I've done this already but it must be on another thread. No updates since Wetlands from me, so a full 6 more DLC to consider...wow. I'm just starting over since there's so many changes. some of my updates even changed.

Africa - Masai Giraffe (my other pick was another canid and I wouldn't put a second one in, a second Giraffe works well for me. This was actually the hardest one.

Aquatic- Mute Swan

Australia - Northern Hairy Nosed Wombat. I love wombats and I couldn't very well but a second Kangaroo in the pack.

Arctic - Wolverine (switching out from North America to get it sooner)

Arid - Hamadryas Baboon

Conservation - Spectacled Bear - thought about them for South America but wanted to get the Brazilian Porcupine in somehow, so it made more sense to put the bear in with this pack.

North America - American Black Bear - my second most wanted North American animal

Deluxe - Bat Eared Fox (a fox from the start would have been nice and TBH regardless of what came later, the base game was a little lacking in canids.

Europe - Wild Boar (no change)

Grasslands - Secretary Bird

Oceania - Tree Kangaroo species

South America - Brazilian Porcupine (Hello my little friend!)

South East Asia -Sulawesi Bear Cuscus - I honestly don't have a ton of SEA animals I want and this would have been unique.

Tropical - Black Howler Monkey

Twilight - Aye Aye

Wetlands - Shoebill Stork (no change)

Updating mine.

Deluxe: American Flamingo
Arctic: Musk Ox
South America: Bush Dog
Australia: Short-beaked Echidna
Aquatic: Great White Pelican
Southeast Asia: Java Banteng
Africa: Hamadryas Baboon
North America: American Black Bear
Europe: Wild Boar
Wetlands: Fishing Cat
Conservation: Pere David's Deer
Twilight: Java Mouse Deer
Grassland: Secretary Bird
Tropical: Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo
Arid: Patagonian Mara

Updating following Oceania Pack:

Deluxe: American Flamingo
Arctic: Musk Ox
South America: Bush Dog
Australia: Short-beaked Echidna
Aquatic: Great White Pelican
Southeast Asia: Java Banteng
Africa: Hamadryas Baboon
North America: American Black Bear
Europe: Wild Boar
Wetlands: Fishing Cat
Conservation: Pere David's Deer
Twilight: Java Mouse Deer
Grassland: Secretary Bird
Tropical: Victorian Crowned Pigeon
Arid: Patagonian Mara
Oceania: Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo

Arctic:
- Musk Ox (A third ungulate may seem a bit much but it is iconic and the most obvious choice for another Arctic Species).

South America:
- Greater Rhea (I think a bird suits this pack nicely and although it may not go too well with the jungle theme of the pack, it already has the Llama and the Greater Rhea would probably be a better choice than the ocelot, tamandua or another NW monkey that would all clash with the existing roster).

Australia:
- It would've been the Tasmanian Devil prior to Oceania. Now I am going to choose the Perentie. I don't overly need this species but I think an Australia Pack benefits from a habitat reptile.

Aquatic:
- Pacific Walrus (The animak that is added to this pack has to benefit from deep-diving given that was essentially the purpose of this pack. To me the Walrus is the most unique option over a second penguin or otter).

Southeast Asia:
- Lowland Anoa (While I would arguably want the Sulawesi Macaque or Visayan Warty Pig more, SEA lacks a bovine/large ungulate and the anoa is a popular choice).

Africa:
- African-Spurred Tortoise (Simply fits the dry themeing of this pack which is already really strong).

North America:
- American Black Bear (arguably the most obvious ommission to the NA pack).

Europe:
- European Wild Boar (the most unique European species that would compliment this pack well).

Wetlands:
- Scarlet Ibis (I think this is a great opportunity for a second wading birds in this pack. Different enough from the Crane, well known and more South American fauna).

Conservation:
- White-Naped Mangabey (Need more monkeys and a highly threatened African monkey that's fairly common in zoos and has a big conservation push should do the trick).

Twilight:
- New Guinea Ground Cuscus (a nocturnal species with decent zoo presence, would double up on the Oceania representation in this pack too to make it a more even split of NA and Oceania).

Grasslands:
- Blackbuck (I don't think a second Antelope in a Grasslands pack is exactly outrageous, seems a good opportunity to add an Asian antelope).

Tropical:
- Aye-Aye (If we're getting the Fossa then let's get the aye-aye too).

Arid:
- Hamadryas Baboon (I think this is one of the easier picks).

Oceania:
- Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo (The perfect addition for this pack and at least something fairly common for those outside Oceania).

I think it's telling that many of these are more primates for me. So many people want a primate pack now because we've been starved of monkeys for a long time while we've been constantly drop fed more antelope, cats and dogs for example. They have fantastic diversity now whereas we haven't had a new monkey since Southeast Asia (gibbons aren't monkeys) and even that monkey was very obscure.

Tried to focus on monkeys, habitat birds, SA and EU - all with 5/16 animals, the ABB and tree kangaroo being the only exceptions to all these patterns.

For the Conservation Pack, the Wisent used to be extinct in the wild and it's now only near threatened thanks to reintroductions from zoos ; despite the fact it's not endangered anymore, I think it's an important enough story to warrant its inclusion here. In fact, the first international animal breeding association was founded to save the Wisent from extinction.
