Predictions for 2024

We got wetlands in the spring and that wasn’t tropical, I think anything that can relate to forests or flowers is in the cards. Therefore,

Looks very spring related. Only problem is that it wouldn’t include a top 5 meta animal.
Bunnies are super cool and I would love to get any!
Wetlands wasn’t tropical? It literally has 5 out of 7 tropical species. So yes for general audiences it was a tropical pack especially with capybara as the headliner.
I am not against any woodlands pack I just think they would keep the pattern of providing us with tropical species in the spring but I definitely wouldn’t be mad for anything else.
My most wanted species is not tropical so maybe Rivers or Coastal pack?

But it was marketed as a wetlands pack and didn’t have as many rainforests or jungle vibes.

Would love it, especially if we get Pelican, Walrus, Sea Otter and another bird but there’s 2 problems:
  • Would have the same formula as the Aquatic pack. A pinniped, an otter, a bird
  • Probably wouldn’t include the Native American scenery set cause it doesn’t really say “coastal”

Wasn’t the scenario for Wetlands set in the South American jungle? it was pretty tropical to me.

For me it really doesn’t matter „what”. It matters how many. And I count for at least 4 more DLC’s in 2024.

I know I’m greedy but I also still see a lot of potential in those future DLC’s. Those ones we’ve received in 2023 were better than ever before.

Alaska Pack with Native American scenery? Maybe:
. Canada Lynx
. ABB
. Walrus
. Muskox
. Wood Frog E

This would actually be a great pack. It gets us a few remaining NA species as well as some tundra species.
I could definitely see this, especially considering all of the 2023 regional packs have not classified them as the continents name. Australia sequel was named as Oceania, Africa named as Arid, etc. I just don’t see this as a spring pack though cause it would be more cold with the walrus and Lynx.

That's a great pack, should be talked up a bit in the Spring pack thread. If it ends up being a scenery pack, which is pretty likely, options for something Boreal Woodlands/Tundra related would rank high as possibilities.

It would also add into the theory that's been going around that we're getting Animal packs for areas that got Scenery Packs first, and vice versa. That would cover North America and would leave the Summer pack to be an Animal Pack for South/Latin/Central America.

The only way I can see a Scenery Pack working for Latin America without too much negative response (when it should be an Animal Pack) is if it solely concentrated on Central America. Still, we'd need some additions from non-Central Latin America, but that would be a start.

But yeah kind of going on the whole North American-ish scenery pack for Spring now. Unless they did just switch it to two Animal Packs in a row..which...Latin America, obviously.

I would like this, but would prefer we get a bird. Maybe change the lynx or walrus to something else? I would like a native bird species to NA, as I don’t have one yet. The mute swan is close, but I believe it is an introduced species. So maybe another waterfowl or something like a Turkey?

My prediction is the following:
  1. We will get at least one more new bird species, I would hope for me but we will see.
  2. We will get another monkey species.
  3. We will get at least two more packs. Though my current theory is we will get stuff until the 5th anniversary. With maybe the last Planet Zoo dlc coming out around the same time as the new game. Maybe we get some tie in stuff. I don’t know just having Planet Zoo reach the big 5 years feels so right. Especially if the game is still making good returns.
Outside of that I don’t know what to think. Frontier likes to surprise us quite a bit, so we may get one of the animals in an upcoming pack right, but get the theming wrong. Like we all predict a South America pack and think we will get a black howler, but instead we get the Forest pack which features animals from all over.

Maybe we predict some scenery packs, but instead we get more animal packs instead.

Who knows what will happen, I just don’t think Eurasia was the last pack.

Tundra pack for spring and Latin America pack for summer.
Tundra pack could be something like:

Walrus
Muskox
Arctic Hare
Canada Goose
Exhibit animal (honestly anything will do)

It could still come with a NA building theme because all animals are from NA even tho I feel like Tundra would probably be the best and most logical name. Just like Arid pack being all African. I feel like the walrus is like that big ticket animal that we still need to get. Arctic hare because like someone said, bunnies for eastern just seems right. And they are definitely gonna re-use that swan rig so getting geese, ducks or pelicans is gonna be a given.

There arent too many suitable exhibit options for a Tundra pack so an extra habitat animal will maybe also do

Another European exhibit animal right after the Eurasian pack? And I really dont associate a European Adder with Tundra tbh. And the Alaskan Woodfrog is too similar to the American Bull Frog.
I really dont see any possible exhibit animal for a Tundra pack. Also frontier would not be able to make a DLC with only 4 animals without major upset.
So the option of 5 (easier) habitat animals is not too unrealistic.

Make it:
  • Musk Ox
  • Walrus
  • American Black Bear
  • Sea Otter
  • Canadian Lynx

Other options are Rocky Mountain Goat, NA Porcupine, River Otter, Arctic Hare or Elk.

I think we still get one final pack, hopefully without a theme, just 20 cool missing animals, and some fixes to old models

I’m really hoping for the following updates and packs:

Update 1.17 🐾
- Playgrounds

DLC: Domestic Pack 🐇
  • Dutch Rabbit
  • African Dwarf Goat
  • Common Mallard Duck
  • Scottish Highland Cattle
  • Central Bearded Dragon (E)

Update 1.18 🐾
- Modular Exhibit Options

DLC: Latin America Animal Pack 🏝️
  • White Nosed Coati
  • Southern Tamandua
  • Greater Rhea
  • Vicuna
  • Ocelot
  • Black and Gold Howler
  • Geoffroy’s Spider Monkey
  • Linnaeus’ Two Toed Sloth (WTE)

Update 1.19 🐾
- Hotels

DLC: Mountains Pack⛰️
  • Domestic Yak
  • Gelada
  • Spectacled Bear
  • Bukharan Markhor
  • Chinese Giant Salamander (E)

Anniversary Update 5 🐾
  • Asiatic Lion
  • Sumatran Tiger
  • Eurasian Brown Bear
  • Remodel of base game cats, bears and wolves.

i would imagine support would end after the 5th Anniversary, if it even gets to this point. But this would be the ideal lineup for me for the coming year, with heavy hitting update features as well as highly requested animals (as well as easy but exciting options) to fill the gaps in the roster.
