COMPLETED CG Campaign to Acquire Unclassified Relics

Can you please explain how you can get stuck relics back? It’s so buggy. I can’t believe this made this a CG without fixing these issues first.
I used external camera to figure out where exactly they were stuck at (was usually one relic at a specific spot) and then jumped the SRV to grab it from the top, depending on the gravity that can be pretty hard if you need to land on top of the device arms and drive to get more height. For me it required getting a run-up from one of the side tunnels too.

It's probably site dependent if / which position of relics can get stuck and how frequently.

There are no active sites without scavengers but their initial spawns and patrol routes can vary. There should be many sites where you can cook in peace without any patrolling to the device room if you get there fast enough after a relog inside your ship landed next to the door.

I think the scavengers also spawn in groups of 3-4 and only respawn when a group is fully dead so leaving one alive could prevent the rest from respawning.

I don't think higher gravity helps when the relics get teleported into the ceiling.
And it's consistent too. It's always the 3rd or 4th pulse that does it and it's always ~45m into the ceiling.

Need to fix the wonky fizzicks :ROFLMAO:

Edit:
Now that I think about it, it's probably the pulse enacting some force on the things and they get clipped through the collision box of the weird pedestal they're on, and the game then defaults them back "50m above ground" so it doesn't fall into the planet.
Shame that 50m above ground is in the ceiling in this instance.

i have to concur. i thought i saw one (long time ago) got thrown upwards but it seems like it might be some z axis shenanigans (not the first time, nor the last). my first batch got two unrecoverable (you can sometimes hit it with the srv hitbox and scoop em if you can fly up there) ceiling pickles and when i was trying to unload the singular one i got, i was thrown through the ship (exploding animation was above the ship) by the nice spinny pulse and sent to rebuy :p

The SRV getting spinned around is annoying, but I didn't get obliterated by that... yet 🙈

I've done 8 UR conversions, without relogging, at Mel 22 sector ZU-P C5-1 body 4A
6 our of 8 times all three URs were collectible. Twice only two of the URs were collectible but in both cases, after driving back to my AspX to swap the URs for GRs to convert more, and returning to the central chamber, the extra UR was there on the floor.
Downside to not relogging between conversions is the corridors get piled high with scavenger corpses and harder to navigate. Seems the debris never despawns.
The first time I found the extra UR I took it back to my ship.. and forgot to pick up my sensor. Luckily with the help of Ricardo I managed to get back in to recover the sensor.

You don't need a sensor or probe at all. Just drive up to the doors, disembark and rub yourself on it in various places - the game thinks you're trapped inside and opens the doors to let you out.

Taking part myself. I'm at HIP 20486 and at most I've lost only about 3 relics. For some reason, leaving the SRV to go on foot then reboarding it magically dislodges most URs from the upper architecture if they get stuck.

Looking at Inara, both CGs are ticking along nicely, both now achieved tier 2 and this CG estimated to finish a day early if even the current trends continue.

The paintjobs are pretty amazing, ....

but the thargoid sites to convert relics into unclassified ones are by far the worst thing I've seen outside of Glaives.
Please, if you design a community goal around sites like this, please make sure they don't waste the things you need to convert by spawning them in the ground/ceiling or somewhere that takes just as long to get a good SRV "jump" than gathering a load of relics in the first place.
Plus endlessly spawning Scavengers get old fast, even if they're easy to dispatch, or avoid. Their remains also don't need a spicy hitbox that turns the arena into a pinball machine, nor do said remains need to stay around forever, it's just infuriating for something (for this CG specifically) meant to be used "competitively" (in a loose sense, but the bottom 25% still waste their time entirely).
It's fine doing it once or twice to get a couple relics made to unlock stuff, but as a mechanic for a CG is just terrible.
And the silly "this area is dangerous" 15 second time logout tax can.... go off all the way to beagle point :p

Anyway, hope y'all don't struggle with this as much as I do 🙈

You weren't around when we had to collect guardian stuff for a CG in the days before there was a waypoint to lock onto to land at the site. So every...bleeding...time we had to play the X/Y planet coordinate shuffle game to even get to the site to find the things.

Remember: "We don't want to waste players time":ROFLMAO:

The person that wrote this cg should be forced to play it for at least 5 hours a day. Collecting the relics is bad enough, but than converting them at a thargoid site is a lot worse, if u wait for the lightshow to end it takes 10-15 minutes for 3 relics, if u collect them while the lightshow is still on u risk losing the srv and then there are the unseen obstacles throwing the srv in all directions, took me 6 tries to dock in my ships.

Having a lot of fun revisiting the guardian sites - topping upon materials and blueprints while I'm here. Haven't been tempted to relog yet, though I do plan to use the opportunity to top up a few alts as my main is maxxed on a lot of the mats.

Glad someone pointed out I can do 3 UR at a time - the 5 minute cycle time passes fast enough and again no relogs - and more mats from those pesky scavs.

Nice chilled CG (y)

Farmed yesterday 122 Relics. Going to Farm today URs. What ships do you use and how many SRVs do you Take with you?

All the best.

and yet the CGs are doing pretty well, considering. It's now the third (?) or so time we have a CG that promotes relogging, which is a shame. There's always the option of not doing it of course, but as long as players run after the carrot on a stick and are willing to do this kind of stuff, they've lost the right to complain about it, as far as I am concerned. As long as people flock (more or less) to those kinds of CGs, Frontier will continue offering them.

Me, I took the CGs as an opportunity to revisit a guardian system as I had not done that in a while, collected four of five relics, thought "eff that", went home, and put in one unit in each CG to fill the bottom 100%. My time is too valuable for that, and the reward is paint jobs.

Will try next time it happens - not sure if the Scavengers will like it, but they can have it if they complain 🔫:devilish:

Are there "empty" sites without the annoying little buggers?

Edit:
Unfortunately disembarking from the SRV doesn't un-stuck relics solidly embedded in the ceilingView attachment 381499
Try jump-jetting to the stuck relic on foot and give it a punch or two. Works for me sometimes.
