Yeah, you know how it is. We Germans tend to take things too serious. Is it really a lie when the whole project is a joke?
The medication level of that fellow's copium is truly impressive."I agree with the premise.
That said, a surprising number of the things you are bringing up are solved by, or more easily solved once, server meshing is in place.
There's other tech debt that worries me.
- The reduction in scope for a server means that server can handle more people. So the persons-per-server goes up.
- But the server stops being the shard, so the persons-per-shard go way up.
- This pushes up the TIC time considerable, which improves physics (and makes it more possible to solve the issues that exist).
- AI, basically the same thing.
The list goes on."
- We haven't done armor at all.
- We haven't done physical damage, at all
- We still don't have models for most dropped things. We still can't hang suits in suit racks.
- The ship backlog
- The system backlog.
- Rivers and roads are non-functional at this point.
- Nothing functional on procedural building interiors
- Remember the AI barrista?
- Maelstrom. That's not a little thing.
- Still haven't made blades nor AI crew (I suppose SQ42 must have that, and it's feature complete... right?)
- No heat mechanics.
- Basic EM/IR mechanics non-functional.
- Combat mechanics still not fleshed out.
- Ship's mass isn't dynamic yet.
- Ship's performance isn't dynamic yet.
- They want airfoils, but since the ships aren't designed with center of mass over center of lift, that means each ship will need to have fake, bespoke airfoils. That's not started.
- Medical is still just a magic ray/pen.
- Salvage is still just a magic ray or two... and it seems like this will need to be completely reworked with maelstrom.
- Depressurization isn't a thing, and CIG hasn't clearly defined how it will work.
- Planets still have basic alignment issues.
- Physics is... really bad...
Doesn't read like copium to me, more like realisation of just how broken the game is.The medication level of that fellow's copium is truly impressive."I agree with the premise.

He's going in circles, too.Now that's what I call holding the line.
Not entirely true. Influencers could play.
He's going in circles, too.
I remember that demo, and without going into too much detail apart from saying that divorce lawyers aren't cheap, if my discretional spending situation was different, I would have very likely bought into the game at that point. I wonder how many others did? All I can say in hindsight is that I dodged a bullet, in both instances. If "100% live, in the engine, in real time" means "guys this is a fudged demo with lots of cut-scenes", then yes

When the sandworm elements bugged out and played twice Chris just tried to style that out...

And then CIG edited it out of the official upload...

lucky unpaid cig marketing agents
