Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Dunno. Just speculation that they're in a grumpy place and ready to pull the lever. (If I'd had CR selling me a line for nearly 6 years I reckon I would be ;))
The backers and whales seem fine with it. :p

And yeah, with that sort of pee-ant (little ant callback yo) return and a guaranteed return on capital when the trigger is pulled, it would make more sense to do it while there are still assets to sell than when there aren't.

Honestly we're still in the dark about what the Calders really want out of this. Do they want an equity style scenario, a cut of perceived future glory? Are they just looking to ride the grift for a while, scooping up ship revenue via some undisclosed method? Do they fancy aquiring a gaming arm for their empire, on the assumption that CR will just blunder on through contractual deadlines?

Dunno. But I'm kinda having fun finding out ;)

If they don't pull the Q1 lever then their game is still afoot! (And if they do, then CIG is pretty close to 6 feet under ;))

Roadmap to the Roadmap v2 - The 1.0 Strikes Back

Thread has been Nightrider'd

And it's been four months since the Progress Tracker actually had any progress (29th November)

Ah you see there's your mistake, you are assuming the program tracker isn't reflecting the progress, whereas it is doing exactly that, there is no progress on the progress tracker because there is no progress. Occam's razor, don't overcomplicate issues, the simplest answer is usually the correct one!

Chris and Ortwin have a way to often screw their business partners. See Microsoft, Kevin Costner etc. Chances are they are trying to minimize, or even eliminate, returns to the Calders as best as they can. Note 28 statement about them not paying due to the fact all cash is used to "operate effectively" at 130m annual is already somewhat telling. Unless the Calders US shares have allowed for some form of ongoing sales returns that we have not seen, I think we can foresee some hilarity ahead...

3.23 content is yet to be set in stone, the 4.0 is so late it's almost a myth now, and all of a sudden they talk about 1.0?!?

Same old CIG: can't figure out the basics and short term? Dream even bigger.

So now they'll rush the Mess out with what, 2 systems and hopefully all the current techs ironed out so they don't fall apart?

Looks LY away from what's been bragged about for years...

The fun part is that no matter what their extremely watered down version feature set for 1.0 is they will likely fall short of that too.

By the way this is indeed Chris Roberts and CIG in a nutshell since 2012. Nailed it:

Can't figure out the basics and short term? Dream even bigger.

The fact that they still have no idea what a release version of SC looks like and openly admit they spent a decade working torwards just whatever, is frankly astonishing to me.

Legendary games producer/designer Chris Roberts; "thanks for trusting in my name all the money and time : now, after more than a decade, let me introduce the team who will throw together some release scope and try to fix my mess once again - what am I like eh?"

The scope creep had successfully diluted any focus and vision of an end product. Ever since they just have been bumbling along working dilly-dally on the myriad of construction sites but never getting anything close to a holistic approach to product creation. It's just an assortment of ideas and ramshackle implementations presented as "groundbreaking" tech, nevadunb4s - all the while their "tech" (I throw up a bit every time I hear that term used) is the kind that the tier 0 student replacements in their workforce can come up with to fulfil some bloated production target by managers caught in their special mental bubble.

28 shell corporations make it really easy to hide assets.
