Highlands (or whatever) Animal Pack: Dream vs. Nightmare Scenarios

Realistic Dream Highlands pack:

Hamadryas baboon, pallas cat, markhor are already locked in obviously.
Andean/spectacled bear (seems inevitable, frontier loves adding bears and this is the last one)
Himalayan Monal (just use the chicken or peafowl rig, easy enough)
Yellow footed rock wallaby (seems way more fitting for the theme than tree kangaroo, and is an easy reskin rather than requiring a new rig, even though I'd prefer a tree kangaroo)
Klipspringer (I know y'all don't like ungulates, especially African ones, but I just really like this one)
Exhibit: Japanese Giant Salamander

Ok but seriously now, if we got something like:

Hamadryas Baboon
Markhor
Alpine Marmot
Yak (domestic or wild it's still just identical to the highland cow)
Spectacled Bear
Barbary Sheep

It would be truly terrible. I am usually a fan of ungulates, but none of the ones I really want (blackbuck, dik-dik...) really have anything to do with mountains.

Other options that I don't even want to think about are basically any type of canine, ESPECIALLY Simien Wolf. If that is added, I'm uninstalling the game once and for all.


As for the dream scenario... This abomination gets cancelled and we get a pack with animals that actually matter in a zoo game and that aren't just recolours of stuff we already have.

I'm actually super happy about the Markhor and Pallas cat being added to the game so there's no real nightmare scenarios for me anymore. 😁💚

For a dream pack I would love some of the fallowing animals completing the lineup:
-Goodfellow tree kangaroo or Yellow Footed Rock wallaby for Oceanian rep
-Andean Bear cause cuteness factor and SA representation
-Chilean flamingo or Tibetan Goose or Monal or Demoiselle Crane because we need more birds (could even be two of those honestly)
-Rhea and Mara but I'm not sure if they fit the mountains theme?
-oddball could be a Woolly Monkey 😜
-I also think that GSNM would be a good addition
- maybe I would be the only one happy about getting a mountain tapir aka woolly tapir but really they are so cute
-maybe a muntjac?
-marmot or rock hyrax
-for an exhibit why not any kind of chameleon that lives near any mountain? Otherwise the bizarre Titicaca frog would be nice. Or an Olm? Or Chinese Giant salamander if they can fit?

Additions that I would find NOT very exciting:
-yak (probably bound to happen though)
-thar
-any spider for the exhibit box (or a snake that isn't a cobra)

Moderately nice but not a dream scenario at this point:
-Mountain zebra
-Barbary sheep (I would normally love it but it's not needed)

It is already a nighmare to me for having that ugly cat in it. 😂 Adding a Spectacled Bear and Rock Hyrax might just save it for me.

Dream pack - not going with exhibit animals in this case since I honestly can't think of any I'd truly love to see that fit. This is also one of the packs where I'm more open to not as popular or personally wanted animals, it's really a place where animals can shine and would take a lot of the most boring inclusions to truly be a nightmare pack for me.

Hamadryas Baboon ( I personally don't care for it, but it's like 99% confirmed to be in based on the artwork shared) - if in the very unlikely event it turns out it's actually the Gelada, that's fine too.
Pallas Cat (also not a big want for me but 100% confirmed)
Markhor
Spectacled Bear
Himalayan Tahr
Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo
Muskox - not really what I would call mountains but apparently they do range into it.

I'm also open to the Alpine/Himalayan Marmot, Bighorn Sheep, Rock Hyrax and Northern Viscacha

Nightmare pack - first and foremost, no Spectacled Bear. As my specific most wanted mammal (we need new world monkeys more but the specific species I'm not as focused on), another animal from Latin America, and one that's been a standard inclusion for most highland pack lineup ideas, not including it would be heartbreaking to me.

More popular alternatives I'd say... between current animals like Takin and Bison, and potential animals like the Musk-Ox, the Yak is seen as filler. Probably doesn't help that we've been seeing way to many ungulates lately, including two bovine.

Common, there really needs to be a bird in this, and the GOlden Pheasant is perfect for this!!! Also Spectacled Bear is a must, I don't understand why they picked a baboon over the gelada though...

That's assuming it is a highlands pack, though. If it isn't highlands, it it wouldn't matter much.

I'm assuming we're getting the Barnyard treatment with 7 animals and scenery, so:

Dream scenario:
  1. Palla's cat
  2. Markhor
  3. Baboon
  4. Spectacled bear
  5. Himalayan monal
  6. Golden pheasant
  7. Barbary sheep
Nightmare:
  1. Palla's cat
  2. Markhor
  3. Baboon
  4. Guanaco
  5. Bighorn sheep (not that I wouldn't like it, but we have a NA sheep already)
  6. Mountain gorilla
  7. Kiang (I'm done with equestrians)
