Now you have to go to navigation board to enable/disable supercruise assist. I would like to have a button assigned to enable it. Then if I see a USS, I can target it and enable supercruise assist without switching view.

you need to be more specific. there was none before the update, and i can't see anything for this after the jan update. if you know where it is, please let us know where specifically you found it

+1 here. Yes please, it's a no brainer really. An alternative solution might be that it's the default behaviour of supercruise anyway, based on your ships current supercruise assist setting, and perhaps there could be a keybinding to cycle this between Auto throttle, Manual throttle, Off.
This would have the advantage of it-just-works, even if you change nav target through the system map mid-flight.

Oh, this would such a great addition. It would make exploration so much easier to not have to dig through the menu as I'm rapidly approaching a planet I want to scan. The auto-orbit is undesirable for explorers. Please give us a key (or mode) to disable it on arrival. Thanks!
How about integrated assistant with no module space usage like the cruise control on my winter beater has?
There is no way to bind a key to SCA. There have been many requests. Your only chance is to write some sort of macro, but that's not as easy as it sounds. If you're on console, then afaik, you're screwed.

you just have to ask for more. It would also increase immersion for those with IRL control panels.
It's been a while since I used SCA in any capacity, but I remember finding the Manual Throttle option really useful.
What it doesn't solve is the need to go into the nav panel and manually engage the SCA by finding the target in the list once you're in-system. It'd be nice to have an option to either engage SCA automatically whenever a suitable target is selected when the module is installed (which would work flawlessly with Manual Throttle), or a hotkey to quickly enable/disable it for the current target without the menu hopping.
