Some feedback for Frontier:

Alright so here is my first impression about 1 hour of gameplay. I'm gonna play another hour later so I stay under the 120 minute limit.

- Performance
The performance seems slightly worse than the first game. I would expected it to improve due to better technology (utilize all CPU cores and so on)

- Graphics
I'm not a big fan of the graphics. Everything looks either blurry or weird somehow. Even with Depth Of Field turned off.

- Workshop
I'm not a big fan of the Frontier Workshop. I hope us PC gamers will get the Steam Workshop soon.

- Path system
I'm gonna be contrarian here and do not agree that the path system is an improvement. Building straight is almost impossible especially down the line when you edit stuff. I don't know why it works so fiddly but angle snap often times does not work when editing paths. I'm very OCD when building and I want things to be 100% straight and snappy. So i'm not a big fan of this sytem and would like to see classic options to build straight, grid based paths along with the new path tools. When editing a path I want to see the length of the path in a tooltip. I want it to actually snap not be free form impossible to make straight. And queues can only be very big. We cannot make sharp 90 degrees angles. The path system had potential, but im not happy with it and prefer the path system from the first game. Deleting paths also is horrible. I want to right click or press delete button but I gotta select bulldozer tool first. It just doesnt work well.

Also why cant we change texture of staff paths?
How do we remove the curb?

- UI
Like everybody I am so incredibly disturbed by the horrible UI. WHY IS THERE A HUGE HEATMAPS BUTTON ON TOP OF THE SCREEN? Who asked for this? Who needs this there? It is so horrible, like yuck, it's making me sick. Please remove that ASAP.

- Menu
Also step backwards. Why can't I open multiple menus at once? Why does it always default to blueprints when I want to build custom stuff? Menu's keep getting into the way too, I just keep on hitting ESC to find out where I am.

- Zoom out
Can't zoom out far enough. For some reason I cannot zoom out far enough like in the first game. Maybe they did this to make the map appear bigger, but it is a step backwards for me and I cannot see clearly this way. Edge scrolling can be fixed by editing an xml file luckely but why do we have to do this for you?

- Interface
The text and buttons are way too big, even when putting the scale to the lowest possible option of 70%. I would like to see 50% or maybe even lower since I use a big 4k screen.

- Building
Building works horrible compared to the first game too. I would rather see a building tab next to the scenery tab again. I keep looking for pieces and it just works so slow and annoying and fiddly compared to the first game.

- Scenery objects
Scenery objects load in very slow. There is a clear delay of a second when looking for certain pieces it is really annoying

- Terrain textures
No asphalt paint? I wanna make a road that is inaccessible for guests. In planco1 we used to be able to paint asphalt, why cant we now?

- Guests
Sometimes the guests teleport around on the path or are walking on the water in the pools as if they are Jesus. Guests also constantly get stuck on paths.

- Part entrances
The busses are nice, but unrealistic. We can't have thousands of guests coming from 3 busses. Where are the tunnels like in the first game?

- Animations
The animations also seem bumpy and jiggly. Also a step backwards.

I dont know I really want to like this game but it's such an obvious console port I feel the same negative feelings like I had with Cities Skylines 2

Regarding the blurryness.

I had the same thing, after fidling around I eventally solved my problem by changing the resolution.
Maybe you can try if the same works for you?

Same with the blurriness, found the game had defaulted to a resolution that was not my monitor native res. When I changed to match monitor native res everything became much crisper for me. Still turned off Depth of Field though as it seems a bit janky on coaster cam.

Thanks but obviously I went through all available (graphic) options within the first minutes of trying the game. It does look different compared to the first one. Also very jiggery animations .

Some really well made points. I'd argue that guests coming from a tunnel is not realistic either. And the busses, I think this is just preparing for the idea that people are going to create car parks. Honestly, never saw the point of this. I am not the slightest bit interested in using thousands pieces on the external parts of a park because I am not the slightest bit interested in the external parts of any park.

im not blaming Frontier at all cause they have to do business with every game BUT pls WHY it feels like its more a console than a PC game? Am i the only one who has this feeling?
Thinking back 2016 i had not this kind of feeling with the game. Like many others it feels very blurry even without Depth of Field, Blur and DLSS/FG off (1440p).
And top of that if you watch to RCT3 they did a lot of fantastic things with their new engine back in 2004. Go on youtube and watch the great LightShows with Moving Heads, LaserShows and and and ... now we have 2024 and this game is supporting RayTracing. Imagine what we can do NOW if Frontier would give us some Stuff ;)

Overall im still a big Fan of Frontier with PC1 and PZ but sry ... this is a downgrade in my opinion ...but what isn't already maybe comes true ;)

Because they add a chromatic aberration filter, which is totally useless and a trashy post process effect that blur image.

But they didn't included an option to disable it in menu, you have to go on config file. Here a post on steam forum I made :

Go in :

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Planet Coaster 2\Config_Local

Open Graphics.config.xml

go at line :
<ChromaticAberration>1</ChromaticAberration>

set it to :
<ChromaticAberration>0</ChromaticAberration>
