Elite Dangerous | Titan Cocijo Vulnerable!

4th Heart Destroyed

4 hearts in 4 days. That means that 8 hearts = 8 days. Last I checked, a week only has 7 days.

And what's worse is that at least the first heart, perhaps even the first two hearts, had less health, because Fdev pumped up at some point the health of the titan by a factor of at least 2. Which means that the destruction of the remaining 4 hearts will be slower than the first 4.

On top of that, it's not the weekend anymore, so people will have less time to play.

People are taking for granted that the titan will be beaten by thursday. I don't really know why they are being so optimistic. There are only three days and three hearts left. Three hearts with more health than the first couple of hearts, mind you.

I'm not as optimistic as others seem to be.

(Of course I'm still sure that Fdev will grant the FSDs even if we miss the deadline. It would be too much of a backlash, even by ED standards, to just deny the reward at this point. It's only a question of what they will do if the community fails to complete the CG by thursday.)

IDK about hearts, but from what I've been following from the tracker linked in the OP, we passed the one billion damage (i.e. 50%, and whatever the unit is if not dmg) with 4 days left on the clock.

And we're currently at 66.5%, with 3 days left... 1/3rd is less than 3/7ths.

Absolutely <3 My dear squaddie has a torpedo boat hitting just over 800m/s for doing the quick loop :) Nice to see the 28m posts every so often, just wish more were cheeky enough to do it. Team work makes the dream work, now let's finish this titan off! <3

I wish to see someone earn 28M on solo. Sadly, I could earn only 27.3M on solo. :(

Case in point, as of writing this, here's Inara's prediction:

Given that the progression is slowing down (and given that the last 4 hearts have more total health than the first 4), the CG is not going to be completed in time. I'm becoming more and more convinced of this by the minute.

Then stop sweating and start organizing and fighting! Draw more fighters in and let's finish the job!

I think fdev might have increased cocijo's health by a little bit too much. I believe they calculated that it would be beaten by the end of the CG, but they might have overestimated by a tad bit. Unless they lower the health in the next couple of days, I don't think it's going to happen.

According to analysis of AXI, it seems that FDev boosted health of Titan Cocijo multiple times since CG started. (And I feel same. But I think FDev will reduce that before Thuseday.)

...and they will pump it up again, or drain it big time, whatever, to fit the events into the timeline they planned. In their script of how all this Anniversary/Holidays thingy is to unfold.

So don't worry, we will get the rewards, we'll see what they planned next for all things AX, and until then hooray, let's enjoy the Cocijo bombing - I'm loving it very much :)

If the CG is not completed in time and Fdev just announces that nobody is getting any FSDs, I'm certain that the ED community will take it graciously and in good spirits.

"Oh well, at least we tried. Good effort everybody! Better luck next time. Great CG anyway."

I don't know, but to a few out there it feels very disingenuous to dangle a bunch of V1 SCO's under the community nose only to god-hand the titan's health pool multiple times when it was clear the community came together and would be successful. The first time I can see, but they went above and beyond doing it now 3x?

They didn’t “increase it three times”, only once on Thursday from 800 million to 2 billion in the mid-afternoon, if my recollection is accurate, likely a move to account for the higher player participation over the weekend. At original strength Cocijo would have been gone through nearly twice already, with two and slightly less than half of a heart remaining at this point in time.

If they want to be assured of the Titan’s entering meltdown prior to Thursday/maintenance, they will do it. If they don’t need it to happen then, they might leave it be to see if the playerbase can muster the remaining required effort for clearance.

It would feel equally cheesy if they just lowered the hitpoint pool again. Let’s also not forget this is the last Titan for the foreseeable future (probably) so it only fits to make it more than just a completely straightforward, completion-always-assured kill as it has been for all other Titans (except Raijin where Frontier fiddled with it even more obviously).

… and perhaps they could just make the pre-engineered SCO drives available via tech brokers after the holiday period or if the CG fails and do away with this whole stupid outrage (while the drives are the whole cause of it) anyway.

I expect the Titan to survive to Thursdays maintenance. My prediction is when the servers come up there will be a Galnet video explaining how a last surge by The Fed Navy (with help from independents ie us) finally destroyed the last cooling vent, starting the destruction timer.

The video posted shows 2 instances of it being done, and there was speculation rumbling it was done again ~6 hours ago (which would be after the video was posted and was why I put a question after my 3, as it was THEN perceptibly the third time) <3 Have a lovely morning.

Guys, we are playing here in a scripted scenario.

It is totally irrelevant what we do or don't do, FDevs have set up a timeline of events - we don't know which events, or when they will play out. They know, and will make it happen accordingly.

It's better not to lose our minds with percentages of Cocijo's health, FDev will tweak it up or down to fit their planned timeline. All we can do is to enjoy our bombing runs.

Well, it could be a close one, but the playerbase has the potential to pull it off - narrowly - even if Frontier don’t intervene in any way.

Claiming it was done three times is still disingenuous. Yes, they buffed the Titan hitpoints even when the CG started but that was a baseline laid out fairly clearly and accessible to things like third party sites. And they also buffed the hitpoints from 800 million to 2 billion when it turned out it would have gone down within ~3 days at - and thanks - to that initial Thursday peak, so that the most people could participate, and Mechan does say it was the right call.

But do you actually, seriously believe someone at Frontier was up before 5 AM on a Monday watching the Titan hitpoints like a hawk and said “Hm, this needs to be made tougher”? That’s just absolutely ridiculous. Think about the fact that it’s the transition from weekend to, well, working week.
