Elite Dangerous | Thargoid War Epilogue

Might as well put this here as it seems apt. There's a new transport quest available in-game involving picking up presents at the Frost Dock in the Njambalba system.

Yup, only small & medium ships can land 😁

The story is that the usual delivery ships are overloaded since people & their children are scattered all over because of Cocijo's invasion. Heading there now myself, it's a brilliant and very appropriate idea.

Pretty sure the new Cobra Mk5 owners will be ecstatic 😉

Personally, being the paranoid type, there's a bit too much patting ourselves on the back going on, too good to be true. I hope there will be some form of sequel, reprise, backlash we totally didn't expect. Humanity just "winning" the war feels too much like an archetypical american action movie to me ;). We need an "Empire Strikes Back" second act for Elite where everything goes to the crapper :D.
If the AX war is over bar mostly harmless hyperdictions as we used to get six years or so ago then everything will have gone to the crapper for players whose only game was AX combat.

If that was true, the AX Chieftain prebuilt would be gone too - but it's still there.
It is remotely possible that that is not intentional.

The last Titan, Cocijo, has fallen.

The war is over. We vanquished the enemy at our doorstep and now is the time to rebuild.

Humanity will be unbounded, our light will shine out across the stars exploring the furthest reaches of our galaxy. Seeking new wonders and forging a new path on untamed worlds. This will be our triumph.

We owe to all that came before and all that comes after.

Let us begin again.
Well I absolutely hate cauliflowers .... so im a mash them wherever I see em!

Now do something good for the console community !

So fleet carrier goods purchasing works there but no where else in the milky way? This game no longer has that be what you want to be feel anymore its more be who we tell you to be which lessens some of its appeal.

So is it time for me to dismantle and sell off the parts of my Thargoid hunter ship?
Unless you have used up all 600 module storage slots already, I'd make sure to keep the ship or repurpose it (and store the modules) if you have no other ships available for a task. I doubt this is the last we will see of the Thargoids.

I remember Zac or someone hinting at the Thargoids will stay in some form or other during a livestream, it's completely gray in my mind, but I remember it because I thought they possibly would become a PP faction. I may be completely off, but here's hope. It may not be as in the War again, though. I'll sell my Shard Cutter and keep the modules, 600 is plenty of space. The other AX ships will remain as it is.

There cannot be an Elite game without the Thargoids. It's unthinkable!

O7,

I can't figure it out either.
Here is a newcomer, will watch a video about the war with Thargoids, Spires, Titans, etc. buys the game, goes in and they tell him the war is over.....

I practically do not play other games, are there games where something has already passed and a new player can not do it?
I do not mean any СG, but a large-scale 2-year war in the Bubble.

P.S. When we searched long ago for bases of the Guardians - 101 scans to this day, any newcomer can repeat this task.
P.P.S.Maybe now the Titans will attack the Colony and the war there will be forever? At least in Colonia there is no PP2 and Colonization as I understand it can only come from the Bubble.

P.P.P.S. Just now, flying off the station I saw holographic screens - Defend Humanity. Don't the ad agencies know the war's over yet?

here's how you dont waste years of created content and actually sometimes fun gameplay (when spires were money pits and people organically just worked together to get rich).
Setup systems all around barnards loop in one of the permit blocked sectors. Unblock it. Have the outer bounds of the sectors have a small percentage of thargoid activity. Then have this percentage increase at some defined rate as you get closer to some group of "home" systems. Then for maybe 10 ly around those systems it becomes just absolutely impossible to survive. And around these systems will be more titans, ...immature titans but with functional aspects.

This creates a never ending source of interaction for players who want some thargoid action and at different levels of difficulty.

And before you ask, the "home" systems can't be jumped into or scanned. Hyperspace becomes too unstable due to the constant travel of the thargoids and your fsd's just malfunction when trying to target the systems to jump. Carriers that attempt to jump into the thargoid systems become immediately under attack and emergency jump back to the nearest 'safe' system without being able to scan anything in adjacent systems. Bonus, anyone who survives in certain systems for more than a few minutes (those systems closest to the 'home') can immediately be flagged and banned by fdev as cheating. Their difficulty will be set to impossibly hard there for even a squadron of humans to survive.

Something like that would be a good way to canonically keep them in the game while ending the "war" for anyone who doesn't go out of their way to play with aliens.

8 scripted events with a fixed outcome just aint a battle in my book..................
any instance of pvp is however............

every thagoid is an npc so its a one sided scripted event which humanity could not loose the outcome to yes?
even the core damage was unerfed to slow down the inevitable outcome
at least in computer chess we have a chance of winning against an almost intelligent npc entity🤷‍♂️

That's what you're talking about. I'm 99.9% sure that even if no humans went to save the sun, Titan would have been blown up by Earth's NPCs.

so that's a one sided scripted outcome
there was never any condition were the thargoids won the event or war (no suns involved)
which kinda does not make it a war but a fictional war story with predetermined ending.
thats what i am talking about..........................
