Been seeing a fair bit of muttering about this...

Seems the jump tunnel is prone to dropping players back where they started...

A non-loading screen ;)
Best reply of the day from that thread, with the Eagles' Hotel California lyrics :)

... Last thing I remember, I was running for the jump
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
"Relax, " said the Pyro man, "We are programmed to receive
You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave"

Some fun meshing challenges for the returning devs...

  • lots of situations where Bloom gets so unresponsive it takes up to 2 minutes for any action to happen - often the server ends up empty
  • ship power reset happens on any server change
  • quantum stops on server changes, but not always
  • lots of situations where we cannot log into a server "region full" even to a random us server.
  • once locked to a bad server, you can get stuck
  • multiple people are permanently stuck unable to connect to any server, getting "region is full" errors.
  • if you have aggro timers on a server, and you cross the boundary, the timer seems to persist forever, even through death

Despite having 20+ tick servers, fps desync is still really bad. While we no longer teleport there's still a ~1 second delay before you see the movement of someone else on your screen. Same goes for taking damage which makes it really hard to react in fps.
As a result to the desync people are sometimes placed inside each other which causes one person to die or glitch through a nearby wall.

We are also struggling with unresponsive looting and bugged inventories that never load.

What's worse than losing your ship?

(Interesting to see this one out in the wilds. Head loss used to be a hangar thing only on bugged ship storage. Lotta ships purpling out on surface landing at the mo...)
