a Wishlist for 2025, post yours (No big new features pls)

1) Space legs and EVA in and around your ship. Mini-games to speed repairs, do synthesis, etc but not mandatory (can still play normally but these would be bonus/improvements to offer incentive)
2) Customizable ship interiors. Different colored carpets, ARX furniture, etc.
3) Customizable ship cockpits: be able to substitute VKB or Virpil, etc (though generic perhaps) controls, as well as rudders and center stick with the appropriate animations
4) Built in panels for VR to support Inara/EDD, etc if not a browser. Yeah I can do that with VR toolkits, Steam, etc but to have an area set aside for it would be nice
5) New sub-ship/shuttle that could go in the fighter bay if you don't want to dock
6) Space station interiors should match the decor of the exterior/landing area - including the fancy ones at Mars High and Abraham Lincoln, etc. The big fancy ones should be more expansive and have more trees and lighter colors while the industrial ones would have more obvious machinery and be darker and more cramped.
7) Neutron plotter native inside the Starmap
8) More tweaking on Odyssey combat - easy (level 1-3) should have much smaller groups of 3-4 enemies and should be less well trained and have weaker morale (more inclined to break off combat and flee - seeking easier targets)
9) More variety and easier engineering on suits and gear
10) Be able to hire NPC co-pilots who can man turrets and back you up on ground missions

Changing my fleet carrier crew uniforms so that the carrier doesn´t look like an emergency clinic:

My own wish? While I'm not sure if this would or wouldn't qualify as something major, and it definitely isn't just a 2025 item, more extensive body customization for the character, not just a single preset for either male or female where you then get to tweak facial features and hair or age. Kind of 50/50 on individually scalable parts knowing what sorts of player creations that would result in, on both ends of the extreme.

I second that, particularly with regards to extensive body customisation with a special, all-hands-on-deck emphasis on width AND depth (anterior AND posterior) - this is critical. Many unaware CMDRs will disagree with this priority preferring to spend another decade pawing for ship interiors instead, ignoring these essential improvements - but what do they know.

Better networking (like a reconnect after disconnect) and more qol changes.

I dont need ship interiors nor more ships. I want more stability when playing together.
None empty settlements... etc pp. There are enough bugs in the game to spend a year fixing them.

Allow landing on denser atmospheric worlds for ships with sensible aerodynamics. Add clouds and rain (they're just shaders), and consider a global "sea level" for any surface liquids.

Don't worry (yet) about rivers, life, and ecosystems, just let me go find a binary sunset over an ocean.

Low hanging fruit, imo. Feels like FDev worry too much about doing the big job of procedurally generated terrestrial weather systems when they really could get away with much less and still score huge brownie points with explorers and players who enjoy a planetary landing 😸

Panther Clipper-like Large Ship that fills the entire landing pad/outfitting dock and just barely fits through a mail slot, SCO optimized, decent SC agility, Class 8 FSD for long-range hauling, class 8 thrusters (not as fast as a Cutter when laden but faster than Corvette and Anaconda even when stuffed with cargo), well beyond 1k tons of cargo space even with a decent shield generator, big fuel scoop and largest fsd booster, two small internal slots for SCA and ADC, plenty of utility mounts yet no military slots and negligable hardpoints that make a type-9 look well-armed

You know, I was trying to be a little more subtle about it. And I know at least one person who'd rather make their female character be a non-stereotypical one (or at least not average) with a "sturdier" body type/build, which the current default (and only?) preset does not offer.

Two other things which I thought of over the last week or two, or just remembered (in case of the first)...

A. Add navigation filters specific to Horizons and Odyssey planetary ports/settlements. I don't want to sort through the clutter of hundreds of the latter, just to get to the planetary port I have as destination for a delivery run or some such thing.

B. Add Odyssey biologicals to Scarab wave scanner (if we're not going to get one dedicated to the task). Self-explanatory, I think.

... and why are seconds in the thousandths of a second
I'd like to have a rear and downward facing camera popup window ... and
enough!

Some truths are best expressed without euphemisms. ; )

You can add me to that list, except I would prefer having someone like that as the main companion to my character - too captivating to let them out of my sight. ; )

From my recent memory, Palworld offers some really good sliders on that end; that is, if you´re not bothered by the game setting.

While it can indeed be annoying, this is one of the things I genuinely appreciate about Odyssey. Some previously seemingly lifeless populated Horizon systems now teem with settlements (and on atmosphetic planets to boot), making these populated systems feel in actual fact populated and authentically alive.

I haven’t played a Pokemon-style game in some time and while I’ve no doubt I might enjoy it if I did play, currently I’ve no particular interest in this type of game. I’d rather have this style of customization in Elite anyway. And have some… less objective reasons for it than expressing the character(s) I’ve made better, if you followed that one link present in my signature.

That’s great and all… though I find some or a lot of the emplacements not particularly believable - tourist location on the dark side of a frozen moon tidally locked to a gas giant at the fringes of a system? Really? (plus a lot of other examples I could list for my own views)… but when I’m not looking to engage with the myriad of Odyssey settlements in a system, having the option to not clutter my nav panel with them while looking for a proper spaceport would be very welcome.

1) Make Mandalay land like it had 3 legs and not 3 1/2.
2) FC flight control should recognize me (as the owner) and have a different greeting etc message.
3) space station, where I keep 1/3 or more of my fleet should welcome me home.

When FDev add that doctor to the game so that you cross paths with her again, I will fund the replacement of the chairs for all your ships and personally arrive to repair them should they break under so much... presence.
