Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Beta Details & Feedback

So where on the system map is the left over resources I need for my claim? I'm not memorizing numbers and the resource for 15 different things. I should be able to bring up the claim, select the colony ship and it says I need 10034 titanium, 3 water, etc.

As for the "low effort" my message was very clear and I never used those word. Anyone should see that I was fine for effort and expect it, but there is a difference between effort and only those people that stream this game or only play this game 20 hours a week are the ones that get all benefits and others cannot compete or get anything. That is just selfish game behavior and pushes more people away from a game that already had huge challenges.

It very easy to create game loops that only further restrict game play for new players. They've done good with like making engineering easier, but it is easy to lose to gains quickly with things like this.
That's exactly how it works, there is also an icon on the top left of the galaxy map where you can see your claim and open the system map

its in your system map > click on your colony ship

as per if anyone likes to roll on different game, or having IRL work etc etc its best to claim a system and work on outpost, little work, you got your claim and no time limit for what to work next

it shouldnt be grind if people know what they are doing, i understand the frustation but people also needs to decide what better for them to do

Cheers 07
Thank you SO much for showing me the location.

I do hope they put a claim extension in or something to give people a bit more time if they can't make it... but obviously that should have a limit too so people don't like perm block or take advantage of it.

I did like an option to do other missions to help with the completion instead of just resource runs. It also would be nice to allow people to add resources to stations... just to help people get it done if you don't know who that person is.

I’m having trouble selecting the place for my station I want to build. How do I move that from the default?
I dont think you can... I had the same issue. I mean we are supposed to "control" our own system but the dang "system architect" put my first station way away from the primary star....which is an automatic pain for new arrivals. Everyone....EVERYONE...wants a quick hop to the landing pad once entering the system. I have no idea why Frontier wouldnt simply allow for a player to select one of the DISPLAYED slots. Why display the slots unless we can actually select it. Frustrating much? maybe there is a way I cant see yet?

So I thought I had quite a few items left to check off, including fruits and veggies and non lethal weapons among others, but now those are listed as 0 even though I did not drop them off. Are NPCs selling these items to my colonisation ship?

could be a player, I knocked out a bunch of the low hanging fruit for my system neighbor. I'm sure they are confused....LOL
I wish I could leave a message

25 millions cr to colonize a system is super cheap. in comparison to a fleet carrier acquisition cost, that's ridiculous. Increase this.

You can just fly to the systems and use the galaxy map to check which systems are in range of each other.
I think Nessie is implying that there are some systems which seem like they ought to be good for an outpost but you can't choose them to colonise. I don't know if that's true or not, could be based on stellar class or bodies present or awkward orbital mechanics or all sorts of things.

System map - Colonisation UI:
  • POIs (System Colonisation effort), left UI menu: instead to have there list with structures names, are shown construction sites (this also for finished structures)
  • Is missing info what exactly structure is (this also for right UI menu under informations. You therefore have no overview what exactly you have built or are building in system.
  • Outpost is not shown under Orbital ports
  • Names generator (structures) should offer also names which will make clear what structure it is. This is not the case for example for Space Farms. (ie Green Farm)
  • Would be nice to have overview about security, live confort wealth etc which are given for each structure

Did I do it wrong?
Claimed a new system.
Uninhabited of course.
Built a new station.
Me/my faction should be the first to move into the station, not to mention the system...
System immediately belongs to another faction. Station Allegiance is immediately with that other faction.
I hope this is something that will be changed in the near future.
Would be cool to rename the system and station too..
Thanks for the hard work.

I noticed the first system faction is taken from the minor faction in the system you selected the claim from at the claim NPC.
If had not been in such a rush to grab system I found unclaimed, would of checked into it a bit more

I believe 3 factions move in. The primary is the faction who issued the colonization beacon, then a second and the thrid would be a player or squadron faction...

Some might find this controversial, but I'm confused.
A lot of people saying that they are not enjoying this.
So don't do it. It's a game. Nobody is forcing you to.
You are posting in a thread which is created by the developers specifically about discussing how to change the situation.
Changing the situation could lead to people enjoying it.
So then they can play the game the way they like.
Does that clear things up for you?

I have no issue FSS'ing systems but unless I'm missing something there's no way to tell in advance which ones you will be permitted to colonise until you actually build a new outpost and ask the new colony officer where he will allow you to post a colony beacon.
To close this - in colonisation view in galmap you can see which systems are circles (and will be available to colonise once you are in range.) I hadnt previously spotted this, only looking inside the green sphere.

Unless I'm missing something, everyone seems to be congratulating FDEV on the CMM Composites changes, but it seems to be dry everywhere, especially for the amount we need to gather?
I got a source, but it's refreshing only between 0100-0500 Z/GMT. that's when the Brits and the rest of Europe are asleep...

You are missing something. Inara is not designed for this situation. There's plenty out there but the hot stations shown on Inara are by definition being emptied out because Inara commanders are visiting them.

Look for high population systems with Planetary Ports and a Refinery economy. Ignore Inara's CMM Composites data.
Or, look for stations that have not been visited in a loooong tiiiime...
