Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Beta Details & Feedback

Dear developers! I also lost my status as an Architect. Please fix this glitch because nothing can be completed. the main station was built and then everything broke down. Thank you in advance

Don't mean to be disrespectful, but not everyone has that much time. Of course no feature should be for everyone, but 60 hours of hauling? Listen to that for a bit. If you've got 3 hours a day to play, which is normal if you have a job, that takes you 20 days.

Not to mention it's 3 hours a day doing hauling for 20 days straight. I enjoy it to a certain degree... but it's obviously also not a very replayable activity when it comes to content. If somebody is spending 3 hours a day for 20 days building a space station well, it's very likely they'll finish it, call it a day and never engage with the feature again. Doing something like that certainly melts brains.

Seconded. Only Hauling as an option to build stuff will drive some people to quit the game or take weeks long break from stress, boredom, exhaustion. We need more options to build stuff.

Game developers are game designers, they can come up with thousands of different ideas to address any of the problems you may bring up with as far as "completing stations would be too easy". Modular completion, timers, wait times, etc... anything that doesn't get you to haul 300 thousand commodities 700 at a time every 10 minutes though.

I don't really mind taking long to complete something. But you know, it depends how I do it... Hauling alone and nothing but hauling is certainly not something you can expect players to do for 3 hours a day for 20 days in order to complete a single station.

Seconded. It's shallow game design to only have hauling as an option. Many people want to be the Architect, not part-time haulers.

It's still lost on my end, I am able to drop off material but I'm not the architect still despite it being my system
Same here, but fortunately I had already placed a ground station to work on. Going to just deliver stuff and hope the trouble is repaired soon. :)

Noone wants conflict. Avoiding conflict while making clear that you do not shy away from it is the most viable BGS strategy.

Conflict over systems or even all out war between player groups only leads to burnout and collective loss of these groups. While others continue to grow with measured actions.

Conflict makes things exciting as EVE has proven. Conflict is a natural part of a complete sandbox = creation and destruction. Not everyone likes it though in which case you don't have to participate or try to avoid it by staying in high security systems. However, conflict is an important element of a truly deep sandbox. Conflict leads to destruction, loss / rewards, but also rebuilding, new strategies, teamwork, diplomacy, alliances, leadership etc.

Also to bring some realism to the conversation, I'm building a small outpost on my own with a T-8 - no carrier, no help. Making 10% progress each day, so on the 6th day it's 60% complete.

So don't get disheartened by people by saying they finished a Coriolis in 3-4 days time. What they're not telling you is that:

1. They've got FCs
2. They've already stockpiled material beforehand
3. They have friends helping in one way or another

So go at your own pace, build it and still have fun👍

3-5 days is a reasonable time frame for solo coriolis wtih type 9/cutter 750t cargo, having carrier sure does help for sure.

with respect, the numbers is actually reasonable, on this case you are focusing on the fact that you are looking on making T3 as primary port which will make you haul around 244244 tons of goods with the +extra % of goods for primary port and you are given 4 weeks to get it done, the fact that the ratio of CMM 1 : 3 of the trio metal (steel, aluminium, titanium) give or take and it is balanced across the board between most stations, and the massive parameters of the T3 compared to the T2, T1 ports, T3 requirement is comepletely OK.

again T3 are not meant to be done solo, get a group, not to mention for the average/casual player, if you know you cant do it in 4 week, get an outpost, and you will get invinite time to do your Orbis/Ocellus.

ive been running my Ocellus alone for almost a week now, haulling is not my fav activity to do in this game but i enjoy and learn a lot from it so far, sitting at 80% Ocellus atm. im doing this because i wanted to test things up .
also with the issue of CMM is solved and there is less contest to getting it, i dont see any reason for the T3 requirement to be lessen, i will agree with you to make it less, it will be nice yeah, but the current requirement is fine.

80% proggress with the current invalid issue. atm im still pushing.
3rd and 4th pic is parameter difference between Coriolis and Ocellus in beta test, thanks to @bragen for the screenshots

Cheers 07
With respect, I will say that this 60 hours is reasonable, when the construction will include more alternatives and more variety in actions than just mindless hauling

Dear Frontier,
I don't know is it just me, but my computer has hippicus when I am close to the Colonisation Ship. FPS drops from 60 to 10. Even busy settlement gives me 30 FPS.
Similar problem around Stronghold carriers and/or dry docks.

Maybe some user has any suggestion what to change in settings?

Absolutely not necessary.
Construction of coriolis, it is about 75-77 trips by cutter. If the purchase station is not far, the purchase and sale route is 10-12 minutes.
Then mathematics will tell you that this is about 15-16 hours if you only engage in this activity.
If there are 3-4 people, the coriolis is built in one evening:)

yeah those going into my suggestion list already.

Edit : not that my opinion will matters later, but hey this thread is suppose to be that ;)
Beside hauling isnt my most enjoyable things to do but to call it mindless is a little bit too much, well its only 80% of the process tbh :p

Greetings Commanders,

We're investigating an issue where your System Architect status may appear to be lost. Whilst we investigate, please be assured your systems, status and progress are not lost!
Thank the gods. I came back from Star Citizen just for this update (Trailblazers) and spent every free minute i had building my System. It would have been devastating if Commanders had lost their claimed Homes.

I am soloing a corriolis, and it's taken me 4 days so far, averaging 20% per day. I should complete today (if the bugs get fixed and I get my claim back) so it will hopefully be complete before the server tick tomorrow.
Yes, I have a fleet carrier - I park near abundant materials and load, jump it to my colonisation ship then unload. But, I don't have friends helping and I did not stock pile before hand.
I have a spreadsheet to track progress and it works out about 7 or 8 runs per day (in a 784t cargo cutter) to do it over 2 weeks, giving me a few hours a day effort.
I took a random long weekend this week (using up annual leave before the year end) which is why I made more rapid progress than planned.
