Can we PLEASE have the old computer voice back?

I was hoping for something more BDSM-esque to keep us lonely pilots happy during those long jumps across the vastness of space.
I only have 2 gripes about the new computer voice:
1. The volume is too low... I can barely hear her over the other sounds.
2. I keep hearing "Friendship Drive Charging"
As for the voice itself, I'm fine with it. Would have preferred a more seductive/sultry voice, but hey maybe a new "Computer Voice Module" might show up in-game a few months down the road eh?

My largest issue is that it is too low.. with the volume in the options at max and i can barely her her. i would expect her to be blowing my speakers at max and i need to turn her down.
One note.. Central USA here and i will say that i Love the British accent on my computer voice. lol... go ahead and slam me for that but it is what it is.. For me, and oh lord this is subjective as hell, she is seductive and sultry. that awesome British accent...

I still hear, from B3.0.5 onward: "Landing Gear Destroyed"! (At first, I thought: "Damn, I've busted my landing gear...")
I also think the phrase "Under Attack" is spoken, but the cadence and emphasis is so screwed up that it sounds like gibberish most of the time...
This is why you hire voice talent!
That would certainly get me away from trial, and into err... buying at least one of those voices.
I'm using surround head phones, and since 3.9 cannot hear the voice very well at all. It's as if they've sent it to the wrong channel or something, or perhaps it's just a volume issue I do not know.
I cannot comment on any change to the voice, since I can barely hear it now. 3.9 is the first time this has happened, never had an issue with the volume before.

IMO the new one sounds harsher, but more importantly it often seems to be saying something other than it actually is.
For example, someone has already mentioned 'Friendship Drive chaah-ging', but there are other examples where it doesn't sound right, I can't quote exactly what it sounds like but sentences such as 'target ship shields offline' and 'cargo scoop deployed' are other ones. Maybe it is the 'AR' sound again? (Taah-get ship).

Has anyone thought that it could have been switched to a synthesised voice fro future development. Having an actress/actor read from a script limits you to the words spoken and also the cadence and tone can be off, so things sound strange, ala Fifa commentary, but f you use a computer generated speech module, then you don't have to keep calling back the said actor for new scripts and the tone and cadence should be the same at all times.
Can't say for sure as I have pledged and pre-ordered, but have resisted playing until the launch to avoid spoiling my enjoyment with constant wipes. I want this to be like I first played Elite in 1984, like the true, sad old fart I am!!!

I like the voice. I was going to have to turn off some of the voice options off because she was loud enough to start getting on my nerves. She should be in the background, not yelling in your face and I like the new "filtered" voice.
It seems to be coming from just the front centre channel now rather than multiple channels, which might also explain the volume reduction.
