How to complete "Eliminate 12 Sentry Skimmers" the intended way?

I took the mission from station mission board (ship mission) and went to the target location. Only one skimmer spawns directly inside the settlement. How am I suppose to destroy 11 more if they don't spawn? What was the intended way to complete this mission and is it in any way or form bugged?

ps: I play Odyssey.

What I imagine we're intended to do is fly out and get into supercruise, then come back to the settlement. Or you could relog, which would do the same thing quicker, but isn't really an in game solution as such.

You said yourself you only have one skimmer at the settlement. If we're not supposed to leave and come back, there is no solution for you.

Who said it isn't the intended way?

It may not be the way you prefer for it to be intended (I agree it is annoying), but that does not mean that it's not "working as intended" as far as FDev is concerned.

I understand that you do not have other solution for me and I thank you for interest in this topic. I'll wait and see if others come up with something more reasonable than 11 SC hops.

It is also possible that the next time you go back it will have more than 1 spawn. I am not sure how spawning works in relation to this type of mission, others may know.

There are usually other places within a few km of the settlement which have a few skimmers each. Yes, I had to find out this on the forum too.

How are they suppose to be located? Do I need surface scanner?

You're supposed to go in in a SRV not take them out from the ship. It's a horizons SRV mission and thus tuned to be annoying to complete from a ship. Horizons surface sites usually have boat loads of them you can also look for horizons signals

So basically park next to the settlement and drive around?

As far as I'm concerned, leaving the settlement to SC and then back again is cheesing it every bit as much as just plain relogging (which of course doesn't work well in other ways linked to on-foot activities).

You can use the SRV wave scanner. Or you can usually spot the places from the ship.

I can't. Mission requires me to go to oddy settlement.

I can't. Mission requires me to go to oddy settlement.

Usually a small piece of equipment or some canisters, with skimmers flying around. I think they show as white dots on the ship radar when near enough.

Like already said, horizon settlements and horizon POI?
The POI you should get with Surface Scanner, or visit the Nav Beacon. Don't remember what the POI are called, something like crashed ship? The horizon ones are those without the number in (), with the useless cargo canisters... they spawn 3 or 4 skimmers, so 4 of those should do the job?

I wouldn't be surprised if the wave scanner is bugged now, but usually you have high peak signals for ships, structures or skimmers, in contrast to low peak signals for mats. If you never used the scanner, you'll have to familiarize yourself with it. It is not straight-forward.
