Shrach on the 800m milestone:

It appears the pledge counter has reached the $800m milestone. It should only be $798m because of the missing the $2m but we won't worry about that, no one else does.

Here's the rest of the story though. I've used end of March 2025. Technically you could say they have raised over $1b but since they returned $4.8m to investors by way of dividend and I've deducted that from the capital raise, so the receipts side of the business is only actually $995m.

Total expenditure so far is around $924m.

TLDR:
  • More things broken by Server Meshing. (They're now using '3D Building Blocks' to replace some lost missions comms functionality. Or something).
  • The AI team are refactoring the ammo behaviour for the 99th time. They're very happy with it.
  • AI ship behaviours have to change again to match the new flight modes...
  • The Transit System is now called the Transport System. (And they clearly hate it, otherwise they woulda called it 'Star Transport' ;))
  • Every other team is working on 'Mission System 2.0'.

For the Mission System, the devs continued to explore ways to build a system that will be more efficient and simpler for the game designers to use.
Mission Tech 3 is almost in the concept phase.
An unannounced vehicle successfully passed greybox review and moved into the LOD0 phase, two other vehicles received a bug-fixing pass and final-content work ahead of their release, and another new ship is currently being prepared for its greybox gate review.
Is that 4 new "unannounced" ships or two "old" vehicles and two new?
Work continued on three unannounced vehicles too: a variant of a popular ship passed greybox review, another variant is approaching greybox review, while an all-new model entered production in preparation for its whitebox review in early April.
Plus two more variants and another new thing.
The team spent time with our developer in MTL to help detail out the upcoming Referral Revamp, which aims to include better rewards, more frequently.
It's like powerplay 2 for shills game ambassadors. New merits, new rewards.
The team maintained their commitment to capturing player feedback, directly channeling community insights to development teams.
"mostly positive"
They also began implementing 3D Building Blocks to display more interesting scenes as the previous method was no longer supported by Server Meshing.
I don't even know what this means. More Iron Man UI?
Planet Tech v5 continued to make good progress, The virtual terrain system is also closer to completion
Sounds good.
“Alpha 4.1 was unveiled to the community on the PTU, introducing a new sandbox activity that players can engage in for unique items. There is a big push for increased production value on missions with a lot of departments helping out to ensure the experience is the best we can get.” Mission Design Team
This is the best experience we can get - until Mission Tech 3.

Looks like a "mission" glitching through?
https://starcitizen.tools/Remy_Kettle
Remy "Phoenix" Kettle was the Nine Tails lieutenant in charge of securing the Solanki Platform during the Siege of Orison. Little is known about Remy's history other than that they only recently joined Nine Tails.

Hah, so it's an old SoO artifact?

I know they had some voice line mission flavour, but don't remember video feed stuff. (I'm wondering if that's what the '3D Building Blocks' is about?)

(All I know is that dialogue plays in an absurd loop for a lot of guys when they hover near the new ToW asset. Although the vid feed can be the right way up....)

I wonder if they built the death star laser around an old SoO cloud city part to get it into the PU? (And there's some ancient mission trapped in there. Along with some NPCs probably ;))

That implies CIG have around 70 million in the bank, although they still owe the Calders a ton of money.
Yeah, this would significantly contradict CIG statement in the 2022 UK filings about not being able to compensate investors. If real, a big chunk of those 70 mill could very well be used to at least partially pay off “some” of the put option liability.

Although I can not even imagine the mental and accounting gymnastics CIG would gave to go through to explain why that cash could be gone if they use it to partially pay the Calders…

I don't buy it. The flight model doesn't "create bullies". It's a typical MMO crowd since Ultima.
There is anecdotal evidence in the form that fast iCouriers don't seem to get interdicted in Open's busy spots as often as slower freighters but that doesn't change the people.

Yeah, its probably not black and white, but do you think it could be a contributing factor? Also, do you think MM exists because of SQ42? I'm quite skeptical about that... my pet theory it was to slow things down to reduce stress on the servers and nothing to do with SQ42.

As for ED, yeah, never been interdicted at engineer bases or SD or similar when flying a small fast ship.
