Corsair has Mass Lock Factor 7

The ship has some weird things going on. The lack of change to handling when adding mass is because the optimal mass of class 7 thrusters is considerably above what would be possible to load it up with. Until you get close to the optimal mass, handling doesn't dramatically change. In fact it may be below minimum mass, and that may account for the odd handling.

The mass-lock factor being low I would attribute to it being a medium, however not as low as it currently is. That seems like an unintentional value/ choice given the multirole aspect.

As expected, every released ship has a disadvantage by design to avoid absolute superiority. Yes, I'd like to have the mass lock changed but what would I want to sacrifice instead?

Mass is the wrong term in the game.
In old Elite Cmdr Jameson's ship was locked sometimes by pirates and/or thargoids.
The pirates locked the in-system-jumps, the thargoids also the hyperspace-jumps.
Planets, stars and station locked also ships, but e.g. an Anaconda didn't.

In ED mass locking by a small moon is the same as by a Super-Earth.

The design of the Corsair in combination with its high max of cargo capacity results in a very small locking mechanism.
If some day (hyper-)jump-locker are sold as modules the factor could be increased.
