The Hair Czar
I looked at the "ready for anything" kit and it's all just cheap basic stuff you can buy anywhere in game... I guess it's the same for the other career kits. I don't like when people say this game is a scam, but those kits really feel like scam for beginners. Especially released with a Free Fly....
Its free fly, they need to take advantage of new players that don't know any better, that this kit has nothing of value in it, is something new players don't know. CIG couldn't even be bothered to put a damn medical decal on the armor.
Its a clear shameless cash grab aimed at naive people.
Don't say this on Spectrum, or you will get banned.
Sorry if this is harsh, but I care about this game, and stuff like this gives us a bad light. They have done it before and will keep doing it sadly.
For CIG record funding isn't enough for them, they have to pull every cheap trick they can.
They're also selling a cargo handling kit without a maxlift. Given the current state of cargo handling, you know.
Haven't searched the store in a while. But CIG, once upon a time, had a "shut up and take my money!" Pledge. It was $10, it gave you nothing. At all. Not even a spectrum title. So these kits are, technically, a better deal.
Even right now, if you manage to grab rescue beacon, you won't have any marker where to go, you pretty much have to read where is it and pray, idiot that got shot is still there.
Yes. Cry3 was the wrong engine. All the ships are just skinned characters. That's why they don't feel right. At some point the code branched to make the ships work correctly. So you had two teams working on what was effectively different code. One on fps one on ship combat.
When they attempted to integrate one back into the other guess what happened. You can see it every time a ship goes mental and spins off through the world or a character mesh snaps into a bind pose but the locator is in a different world space. At this stage this is a collosal screw up and they just don't know how to fix it properly

Initially when Chris pitched all this he got some space ship meshes and then had a small team re texture and topologise them to look cool. he then bought an off the shelf engine (At the time a seat of the cry engine cost a small fortune for full spec) Then he produced some very brief flashes of those ships moving around with no levels of detail in them, spergs came in their pants. The cry engine is designed to move character models around the environment to this day that is why the ships themselves feel like Characters and not ships.
He then interspersed lots of pre rendered footage and marketing with absolutely no consideration for things like vert counts, texture budgets, animation ,joints VFX etc etc.
Very early on in development it was realized that cry engine was not the way to go ; so what happened. Get a more suitable engine? Try and use something like Unity or UR4? No .........
His minions had obviously failed the Stimporer so he simply pillaged Crytech. When those guys came on board they were ordered to make everything work properly to realize the vision. Then came the FPS dream , the Star marine that never really existed and annoys him so much. At this point the brains he had stolen from Crytech had finally got a smooth workflow and decent toolchain going for a modified Cry engine. The Stimporer meanwhile had passed the Star marine game to the Ilfonic guys who were using early iteration of the modified Cryengine. When the two things were expected to seamlessly slot together guess what happened. The existing Cryengine worked as intended with the FPS, the modified one that was and still is a WIP didn't work with the submitted stuff retrospectively.
Thats when the Stimporer lost his temper. Add to that the completely broken animation system and the none existent anchor to a spawn point system and voila !! Best damn space sim ever with better than COD or battlefront FPS elements.
To answer your question look at Angels fall first $12 on steam and they have pretty much ripped off any half decent UI off SC. At this point if they were to optimize all the existing assets and start again , with the original pitch using the UR4 engine they could pull off SOME of what was promised ... Remember Chris is trying to make heavy rain in space with seamless No mans sky vehicle access and 3 movies worth of his visionary sci fi story telling

well, lets start with a skeleton and a base mesh with 1200000 polys in it. Now shoot some mocap data.
Now realize that there is no way on god's green earth that this is going to support more than 3 characters on screen at any one time. (Add to the fact these meshes have been redesigned at least 5 times so the topology is now different)
Now realize that you have to rebuild the mesh, reskin the character and knock out some joints along the way.
Now realize that all that data that you shot at enormous expense is flipping useless.

Well let's say hypothetically that they did have some cash. Some cash from other sources that the punters don't know about. Now let's say they want to keep the backers sweet AND the remaining investors and people like the Nat West who they borrowed 8 million quid off happy. It's a simple task to create an algorithm to show whatever figures you want in an online graph where no one is any the wiser of the real revenue stream. .... but what do I know I got the boot when they bought the coffee machine and the massage chairs ..They didn't need me anymore

I have mentioned on here how it works.
Its not a con so much as unsavory money management.
All the studios have key personnel close to Croberts
They have share holdings.
CIG buys this share holding for an undisclosed sum and his nearest and dearest get rich while the dev staff further down the food chain get dirisory bonuses far from what was promised.
Meanwhile before the money gets used to buy out Chri's pals, Simon takes out a loan against the sudden large influx of cash before that cash goes into various private and quite legitimate bank accounts.
I should imagine the likes of ortwin,Erin, Tony Z, Sandi and probably EP at some point have or have had significant holdings in one of the many companies just waiting for whatever money CIG buys them out at.... Of course this figure is decided by.... Yes you guessed it.
If Derek can find evidence of this then.....game over man, game over

Do not be distracted by this nonsense
Do not be distracted by the hilarious gifs of the broken game that they are now making a New TV show out of to show the horde they are working on fixing the game.
Instead look behind door number three, where the facts that:
3 directors of CIG Manchester (In the heart of Wilmslow Cheshire) have public share holdings in a company that has just had 15 million dollars shipped into it.
One is a Roberts the other a lifelong childhood friend and the other an ex prominent member of staff at Gizmondo. Not to mention the whole thing has been actioned by the new CFO another childhood friend and ex CFO of Gizmondo Europe. Its all right there in black and white.
There is an Astin martin garage very close to the office i will be watching the clientele closely .........

Purely hypothetical of course and totally NOT true in any way .
But imagine if Gary Parpman was promised a royalty based on his performance , imagine that he took a slight pay cut for this . Imagine he signed a specific deal for the use of his likeness.
Now imagine that somehow CIG were deemed to have used his image inappropriately. Say like releasing pre-production mocap set ups and unauthored textures of his face etc . Now let’s pretend that CIG have slipped ever so slightly behind with sq42 and those royalties seem less and less likely, even so far as Mr Parpmans original contract clearly specified a date that has now sailed past . Let’s say that Mr Parpman has called his agent ....
Now lets check if Mr Parpmans agent is the same one he had when filming Sq42
Like I said, just a hypotheseis from a low level wig technician that once walked past the LA office

enjoy that one
Lol. Some of what you've said has the air of truth about it.
There was one delightful chap who has a pic on the forum somewhere. He dresses like a pretty hardcore lunatic and inferred he was some sort of x special forces/militia whatever in his home nation even though he was only in his early twenties. He was from somewhere in eastern Europe and he turns up at every single meeting of the cult dressed in combat fatigues and sporting serial killer shades, genuinely ed off that he cant walk round strapped . He is physically fit looking, with a military haircut and looks like a stone murderer
He said , without the slightest hint of any rubbish that he could organize the silencing of any dissenters , he would do this for free and there were many like him in his guild/unit or whatever it was. Normally one would simply laugh at these idiots but this fruitloop had seen some , whatever that was.
He was actually one of the nicer ones. Some simply have no sense of personal space and have a strange aroma about them , others offer their girlfriends up or try and give you jewelry etc. One guy wanted to pay a small mortgage to have a star system named after himself and offered a blank cheque pretty much.
There are just too many to mention. The fourth Stimpire is just the tip of a very deep iceberg. They are mainly white , all male and the odd one has an even crazier looking girlfriend who will either be north of a healthy weight or look like Aileen Wournos.
Lots of nationalistic rhetoric , many of them see the verse as a fourth Riech. Dont know what else to say really you can see for yourself by the posts in various places what these guys are like.

Big Issue: Ships Bought 12 Years Ago Still Not Launched in Game - Star Citizen Spectrum
I've compiled a list of ships we purchased that still haven't been launched in-game, along with how long ago they started selling: Merchantman: 12 years Orion: 12 years Idris P: 12 years Crucible:...robertsspaceindustries.com
The Noisy Audio Narrative:
Both small teams in theory, Audio & Narrative lost:
- Director of Audio
- Senior Lead Narrative Designer
- Lead Narrative Designer [who seemingly penned this striking Glassdoor]
- 3x Sound Designers
- 2x Dialogue Designers
The Senior Lead there slipped away in August. Only just updated.
Definitely something odd going on in those departments.
(In lieu of more info I'm guessing it's due to increased proximity to wavy hands, as SQ42 intensifies)

10 years ago I was on 1.2Mbps down and less than 500Kbps up...then came the TV white space crowd that gave me 10Mbps...then Badger with his Norsenet 5G mobile broadband service giving 120Mbps down and 40 Up (which I've kept as a backup since it's free). The islandYou sat there on a remote island and can get 1.6Gig, and here I am with my provider getting 50Mbs
