I read the description of the stong/weak link schema and the determination of economy for a colony construction based on the kind of body its on or orbiting. I rubbed my eyes, shook the fog in my brain, then read it again. Really pleased this is explained.

Going to cut and past the update notes in a Microsoft Word Doc for future reference.

After the update, it will be interesting to see how the economy of my planetary ports will change. I worked hard to create a refinery/agriculture economy on a surface outpost (originally with a colony economy) on a high metal content world which also has two refinery and one extraction hub. The result is a predominantly refinery with limited extraction market. This is to allow more efficient transportation of materials to an orbiting Ocellus Star Port I am building for a refinery/extraction economy. Then a surface planetary port. If this changes, I am going to be annoyed. Glad the population will be growing at a brisker pace.

BTW, I am delighted Brewer is enforcing security around their construction ports. I lost 3 Imperial Cutters trying to deliver goods to these ports from as whole NPC pirates who keep showing up and demanding loot from me. If I do not dock in time, they open fire.

Overall sounds great (stutter fix! Rares for powerplay!) but slightly concerned about a 35% reduction in merits for “defensive” actions. I usually spend some time helping to reinforce systems and am already struggling to make any meaningful rank progress with limited playing time each week so that kinda of reduction could almost double the remaining 10 weeks I currently think it will take me to get to rank 34 and actually unlock something …

The way to look at it is that FDev want to push us towards acquiring more systems or attacking our neighbours as that's going to bring about more dynamic gameplay. It certainly seems to be FDev's perception that we're drifting towards fortifying above anything else.

The lot of us sat in impregnable castles hurling insults at each other like the end of Monty Python's Holy Grail wouldn't really be a marker for success with this.

Outstanding work Devs :) Can you also please fix some facilities whose locations are very near or inside coriolis/ateroid stations, that is blocking the entrance/exit to those stations?

Meanwhile, I was going to post that I have claimed enough systems for myself, and now I can develop them; but I couldnt have done it without the bold efforts of commanders who developed during ther beta phase, even when everything was blurry. I would like to give a huge appreciation and thanks to following commanders, who helped me, a solo commander in colonisation, by constructing refinery/agriculture and orbital stations in the edge of imperial space :

- Cmdr Scarlet Sinclair, Cmdr Dragule, Cmdr Vladimir Markovich

Now, it is my turn to help other commanders...

This is what set my teeth on edge- in PP eventually you will get shot at- after all its 12 powers who hate each other. However a great deal of streamers did not identify the issues correctly, setting FD on a path with PP NPCs that never shot back and just ran off. I just hope that FD will revisit the AI and at least provide a decent PvE experience out and about.
 
Sad that the, now years old, bug with FC markets needing 2 visits transfer goods, remains ignored. (it is quite frustrating if one forgets the 2nd visit!)

I just gave you 3 votes \o/ This needs to be fixed stat. I know there is plenty of decade old bugs* in this game, but seriously FDev


*probably just considered features by now... sigh
