Is the BGS paused?

There is an ongoing (and very nasty) BGS bug which may have some severe repercussion with trading activity in Powerplay involving the investment state (may have some very negative effect on Delaine PP as well given that bounty hunting which will become much easier to perform in the lockdown induced by the bug is an undermining for him), some others folks on the EliteBGS discord were able to confirm it as well, I opened a ticket for it. https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/75008

The system I'm building has been in "Election" since March 30. Four weeks with no changes, even with me and other Commanders doing INF missions almost daily for the faction I'm a member of and who we're trying to move the system to. Col 285 Sector QT-Y b14-2

Broken :-(
What I don't know is if it is intentionally broken by FDev (to avoid whatever it is) or not, given there is zero word about it for such a long time.
@Paul_Crowther
Part of the issue is probably there current server infrastructure which is just not enaugh anymore with PP 2 and now Trailblazer, they admited it themlselves by- claiming that the regular server maintenance was just not enaugh anymore to calculate the activation of all the newly builded port.

I managed to expel two factions from the colonized system and they were not in the system, the main faction had 99% influence. Today they magically revived, they did not have the state of expansion, one and a half months of my work were thrown into the trash.

Looks that BGS is running again. At least Col 285 Sector XV-C c13-12 is now in active civil war state, after almos 3 weeks on Pending.

After a few more days, i can confirm that conflict resolution and calculation has become unstuck.

We have a variety of conflicts progressing as expected, including large ones.

My FC is parked in a system that has conflicts with influence levels of the combatants at 14.9% and 2.9%. I have a vague feeling this has been going on for some time. none of the usual data panels show this war, just the active conflict zones.

Have been lately tipping my toes on BGS for the first time. Is minor faction influence being stuck in an "election" state for a bit over 2 days completely normal, or is this caused by the BGS problems?

Inara says "0 vs 2" victory in elections. It still said "0 vs 1" yesterday, so I suppose it is advancing? I just have no idea how long it normally takes.

Btw, is there anything I could be doing in this system meanwhile?

Election (and war) states are "best of 7", and end once the result is no longer in doubt. So if it keeps going like that it'll end when it reaches 0-4.

Most ways of changing a faction's influence don't do anything to influence during an election (or war) - instead, they might go towards whether the faction wins the conflict that day. So they'll stay locked together until the conflict is over, then the winner will get a boost and the loser will drop somewhat.

(Whether or not there's anything else to do while the election continues depends on what your short- and long-term goals are)

There are missions named "courier for sensitive poll data" with a description of "the election will go better for us if you deliver this information about the polls to our partners."

I assume that doing these missions will help with the election?

There are also lots of "election support by liberating ..." missions. Although those tend to be slightly harder.

Non-combat missions will generally help win an election, yes (the election text is not necessary for this, it's just flavour and doesn't affect the mission outcomes)

(Combat missions it's less clear if they affect elections: different people I trust to test this properly have reported different results over the years)

Legal trade and exploration sales to stations owned by the faction you want to win will also help.

Do we have any detail on how the BGS is affected by powerplay and trailblazers? We're trying to work our info up in a low pop system and it's taken way way way more effort than it used to.

Are some missions just not working anymore?

PP and missions are an issue. Especially with PP1.0 systems where missions often do not work.

Is there any point in the BGS any more?
Taking part in conflicts seems to have no effect - nothing has been updated for days.
