Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

The sub is not exactly in patch-exalting form. Top post at the moment...

(From what I'm seeing in Twitch the patch is pretty baked already. Lots of desync booms, random deaths, inventory jumbling, state delays, busted terminals, haywire trains, F for physics stuff, elevator collision deaths, teleporting mechs, etc. All the signs of networking and services flaking out, on top of the baseline glitch. And some old bugs coming back for good measure ;))

Also, this reply thavlt suggests that demanding to fix bugs is somehow detrimental to the development process is another level of mental gymnastics 😅
He's one of those who won't install SC until 1.0.
Of course he would like to see that CIG develops fast and breaks all the things. Fixing bugs comes later when everything is in its final place. Focusing on the playability of an intermediate state is detrimental under that premise.

The whole thread was worth it for StuarGT's J3PT slapdown.

He replied and Stuart replied to that with:

I'll dismiss the rest of your post as the premise it was based on was false, and it appears you're emotionally compromised.

Nostromo also getting in on the J3PT slapdown

That from a guy that has practically a subscription to the word "disinginous" is beyond ironic.

Fixing bugs and having a year of stability is bad mkay?

So, the point is comparing a game that has been released years ago to a game that's in full development? I hope they concentrate on finishing the game instead of fixing bugs... which will return or become different bugs once they continue development. The "Year of stability" is a very bad idea setting back the release by another year, just because people like you DEMAND bug fixes.

Where did you get those numbers for SC?, afaik there's no official or reliable source to get accurate numbers

Partially right, the numbers came from Chris, so they are official, but since its Chris they are unreliable. :p

I believe that poster you quote was responding to J3PT bullcrap claims actually, not Stuart´s numbers 😋 .

Sad / happy thread

They took my Hammerhead. Just like that. I lost something like 48 million aUEC. That’s a lot of money for someone who doesn’t play all day. It’s a lot of grinding [...] What really ed me off is knowing that if I had bought this ship in the pledge store, it would still be there. [...] So yeah… I’m out. I’ve decided to play games that aren’t held together with duct tape and prayers. And you know what? It’s awesome. That’s actually the best thing about SC — it teaches you to appreciate games that actually work.

Reading Spectrum is slowly becoming my new hobby :D

Virtually all hangars AFAIK have a few corner cubby bays that could act as calling up ground vehicles. This could be done simultaneously as calling up the ship and perhaps multiple ground vehicles.

What could possibly go wrong? 😅 🤪

Reading Spectrum is like watching Jackanory as a kid, so many fairy stories they tell themselves.

Although she might not have been on Jackanory, but it's what popped into my brain!
Floella...nay...Baroness Benjamin used to be on Play School and Play Away as a presenter (the ones with Zippy and George)...even though I was well into adulthood by the time those aired on TV. I think my eldest daughter used to watch them at the time :)
