Planet Zoo | Asia Animal Pack | Announcement

You say that but we got:

Oceania - North Island Brown Kiwi, Little Penguin
Eurasia - Mute Swan
Barnyard - Domestic Chicken
Zookeepers - NA
Americas - Greater Rhea, American Flamingo
Asia - NA

That’s 6 birds in five packs. Not bad going…
Yes. We have got more birds lately but we also got a primate (or more) in every pack since ZKs but no birds in ZKs and Asia packs, two packs that were perfect for them as well. Instead we got lemur and elephant n°3. If they were really doing well for birds as well we should get at least one in every pack.

Its certainly better than before, but still kinda bad. 6 birds in 6 dlcs doesnt sound so bad until you compare that to the 16 ungulates and 10 carnivorans we got in the same time. Like we almost got the same amount of just goats alone in that period.
And as a bird fan thats just incredibly disheartning to see like the gazillionth antelope and a second subspecies of asian elephant when we dont have a single duck, pelican, stork or pheasant yet, all of which would be right at home in an asia pack

That's not the only group being underrepresented. Obviously reptiles, amphibians and arthropods are lagging behind with the exhibits having been abandoned (even for habitat raptiles, we didn't see a new one in the last two packs), but even among mammals we don't have much representation for rodents, pinnipeds, viveridae, and we still don't have a single lagomorph or eulioptyphla.

But other than lagomorphs You still have at least one of each. Not the case with birds.

I feel like rodents (with the exception of the big ones) and other small mammals such as Eulipotyphla, Scandentia, and a good chunk of Afroinsectivora wouldn't work too well with our current habitat system. if only exhibits allowed for more dynamic animal behaviours other than just moving the head a bit and maybe walking/swimming slowly in circles then they'd be great to have.

This pack however was the perfect opportunity to introduce another viverrid, considering how they're most prevalent in Asia... But there's still a tiny bit of hope for the African Civet (please Frontier please).
As for pinnipeds, I feel like we'll never get my long-awaited harbour seal.

I think Cuban solenodons would be fine in our current system, they're large enough to be functional in a big habitat
Just looked it up because I've always assumed they'd be like the size of a shrew or a hedgehog at most... Turns out they're rather big, perhaps even larger than the prairie dog. Everything the size of a Prairie Dog can work perfectly

You know... after 4000 hours into the game, I've finally started playing career mode.
Today I reached the seventh scenario (the Indian one) and I was hit by the realisation... Imagine how awesome it's gonna look now that we have some proper Indian animals to replace all the ones in the map

The first thing I'm gonna do with the new DLC is open sandbox, made a new zoo using the India career map, and
• swap out the mandrills for the lion-tailed macaques
• swap out the pronghorn and springbok for Nilgai and Blackbuck
• add the honey badger
• swap out Baird's tapir for malayan tapir
• add the sloth bear

Yooo, I never thought of that😂
I hated that challenge in particular, I restarted several times
